A fresh and fun entry to the genre, Astral Ascent delivers on beautiful stylized visuals and fast free-flowing combat. The progression system is incredibly rewarding, and unlocking new spells gives a very enjoyable variety from run to run. The particles and enemy attacks/patterns are very polished and readable, as well as the intense boss fights that present themselves in visually flashy and viscerally satisfying ways. Movement in this game is an absolute treat and it feels amazing to hop from wall to wall in parkour segments and among enemies in combat scenarios. The cut scenes and soundtrack, not to undersell it, are fantastic. The themes for The Sun and The Moon inspire such a feeling of awe just to name an example. I have been keeping up with this game since the beginning of its early access run, and I believe here we have a truly fantastic game that is a hidden gem of its kind. Highly recommended, especially to play locally with a friend. My one and only gripe is the voice acting can be awkward, unfitting and limply delivered at times, but it is easily overlooked among all its other shining qualities.

Fun and punchy with interesting mechanics, easy to get into but requires a lot of technical skill to improve. Movement feels good and quick, the lack of a shield option forces more of a focus on offense and evasion which is refreshing in smash-like games. Definitely worth buying the hero pass to experiment with moves and weapon combinations that best suit your play style. A lot to offer for a free game. Just wish you could buy some of the premium re-skins with coins, as coins are pretty much useless after you have all the champs aside from certain palette swaps for your high rank champs.

It's fun, a little lack of polish and some of the balance choices are questionable. If you have a decent grasp of MOBAs its really fun just to hop in and pubstomp with your friends. God pack is worth buying. Some cringy outdated jokes, dabbing and whatnot but skins are generally fun and provide enough of a change to be satisfying. Gems are usually way too expensive and skins cost more than I'm comfortable with, wait for the gem sales. Mechanics aren't perfect but I always have a lot of fun when I play.

This is incredible. Vast enviroments, intelligent NPCs, good crafting systems, and endless worlds to discover. And to think this is the 1st phase... keep it up! I definitely reccomend this to anyone who likes survival exploration type games.
