Aside from technological curiosity (this came out in 2001), don't buy this. The gameplay did not age well at all. I really tried to get into it, but even with mods, it's a struggle. 11 hours of pain.

Step 1. Erase any and all connection you might imagine this has to Metal Gear. Do not buy this expecting to see your favorite characters return or even vague connection to any of the MGS games. Forget that is even has the words Metal Gear in its name. It should really be called Survive Dite.
Step 2. Enjoy a slow paced, survival game.

Beware that it is very, very slow to start. It takes about three to four hours to get the hang of things.
So if you like a slow-paced game, centered around resource gathering and management, mapping out the world as you explore it and cheesy writing, you will probably enjoy this game.

Play with a controller.

The only negatives are the weak endings.

The game that made me build a PC and buy a full Index kit. It was worth it.

Unless you like slow shooters and have nothing else to play, avoid this one.
Its a solid 5/10.

Fun game, also requires some skill. Seriously underrated.
