With several thousand hours adding to this via the main launcher, I'd love to recommend the game, but aggressive monetisation and microtransactions becoming p2w for even end game content means i can't do it honestly. In their recent update for hero pass, they introduced buffs requiring either premier club or 3 months of membership redeemed in 1 go in order to attain, tacked onto this the invasive nature of the update to game play and the added necessity for daily scape just kills it for me.

The perfect example of how well a f2p model can be: completely f2p with amazing action combat and graphics on par with black desert online, with the only things availible on the cash shop being purely cosmetic or mounts.

So, you're bored of the fast paced games that dominate? Well, you've come to the right place.
Stardew valley is one of the most wholesome and relaxed games i've ever played, being perfect for when your in a bad mood or just trying to calm down. It might not be a genre your interested in or something similiar to what you normally play but i can't recomend it more - Just give it a shot, if you hate it (which i doubt) refund it, no harm done, otherwise you've just found a great game.

Archeage... Where do i start? For me it was one of the first MMORPGS i could spend a lot of time on without getting bored, endless things to do, endless goals, it had me hooked and a little disclaimer - i never spent a penny on it. I had land throughout and constantly did runs for cash using any labour i had but i was never at a point where i could be remotely competitive. Want a game to spend hundreds of hours on and have fun? Sure, grab a friend and you can enjoy every second of it messing about. Want to never spend a penny? Fine just buy Appex's every so often. But it has a catch, it takes time and dedication to upkeep that membership for free. But that makes sense, i hear you say, membership is designed to be payed for to skip this tedious upkeep and task, and i would agree with that if it allowed you to be on an even playing field, but think again. Even if you pay for the monthly subscription you are miles below anything competitive, for that you need the best enchants and weapons which - for a small fee, you can increase the chances of - but the meta constantly changes, leading to new re rolls and new weapons, which, again need enchanting to stay competitive. Rip your wallet maintaining that against the whales.

TLDR: A game i never spent a penny on and enjoyed but requires allot of time and/or allot of money if you want to stay competitive in the world of PVP the game is focused on, imagine black desert but worse. Allot of wasted potential, F

great game with an enticing story. Completed within 15 hours at a casual rate, definitely worth picking up if you like combo based fighting games with a decent amount of weapon variety :)

Where to start....

The guns are great, each with a unqiue style and feel, damage, accuracy, bullet economy and the gun system they have is the idea that you WILL run out of ammo and have to get a new gun every so often, keeping the idea of constantly adapting and changing - Don't get too good with only 1 weapon.
Paired with this the artstyle is very nice and is both realistic but keeps the idea of 'customized to never really go bad' so i'm sure it'll age great - as well as it already has.

But the main seller that kept me playing was the story, and the amount it makes you question everything. Is there a point to what your doing? Are you really fighting on the right side? and the character developement throughout the game is so good, starting with your squad mates adam and lugo and later a mysterious man over the radio, the warlords. This is one of the few games where you never know what will happen next, something rare in todays predictable story lines.

Do i recomend this game? Hell yes,
Would i replay it? Working on it ;)

Tl:Dr
10/10 would recomend to buy

Pros:
Great story line
Varied range of guns
Character developement is done extremely well
Always changing, permantly adapting sceneraios
Co-op (doesn't work for campaign)
Varied difficulty settings for replayability

Cons:
campaign only takes about 7 hours to complete

This game is sure to leave you questioning everything and Will just make you go "wow" at then end, its just so DEEP
