Sure, they're similar, but in reality, the precise ratios that make up a burger go into the overall flavour.
First of all, the Quarter Pounder bun and the Big Mac bun are fundamentally different. This is because a Big Mac bun is sized to take 10:1 patties whereas a Quarter Pounder is sized to take 4:1 patty. This a;so means that when you go to add both lettuce and sauce to the burger, the amount you get isn't increased to compensate for the extra meat, which leads to a heavier flavour that overpowers the sauce.
Secondly, because of the middle bun, you ♥♥♥♥ the ratio on bread to meat and veg too, as well as the placement of meat to flavour, all of which leads to a different experience.
Now, while I wholeheartedly recommend experimenting with the menu and different grills, because it's the only good part of Maccas, to claim that one burger is the same as another when only the superficial is similar is disingenuous.
