its navie to assume the are the same
They do take the choice away from the consumers, albeit "only" for a year, but they are nonetheless removing steam from our choices.
>So you wait for the steam version? It'll be an extra year but by that time all the dlc and stuff should be bundled and good to go. I don't understand how that's a bad thing.
It's a bad thing for consumers as we usually want a game right after it is released, but many consumers are then forced into a dilemma; whether they buy from epic, which they have decided against for various reasons. Or wait a year for the steam release, which they do not want as then they will see many spoilers, videos, memes- intentionally or not- about the game before they are unable to play.
You're autistically persistent over this.
I completely agree with both sides of this argument.
Yeah, they want money, and epic will give them more of it than Steam. Money will allow them to make more investments into their company and technology.
On the other hand, yeah it really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks to you as a consumer, when you are forced to buy a game from a company that you dislike for whatever various reasons. Or likely more annoying: you are forced to install a whole other game distribution software AND make another account just to play a single game, which you won't even be able to access later on Steam once the Steam version comes out.
