I lost it.
Not knowing what I lost or where,
I go out to the street,
my hands in my pockets.

Stone after stone after stone, in endless array:
the road runs along a stone wall.

The wall, with its iron gate shut firmly
casts a long shadow along the road.

The road led on,from morning to evening
and from evening to morning.

My tears falling as I gaze upon the stone wall,
I lift up my eyes:
the sky is shamefully blue.

I am walking this road without a blade of grass
because I remain on the other side of the wall,

and the reason I am living is
only because I am looking for what I have lost.
