Turn off your mind and let the happy brain juices out as you consume the horde.

The monke is strong with this one.

I ended up spending a bunch of hours playing the Quest version instead of PCVR since I lack the space to flail my arms in my room, but they appear to be identical.

The settings/customization interface is an interesting if awkward concept, but the core gameplay experience is lots of fun, with an exceptionally high competitive skill ceiling.

Only so far negatives are related to input latency with tagging and getting tagged: Lobbies seem to have global matchmaking, so sometimes you'll encounter exceptionally high latency between players. They'll appear to have smooth movement, but it seems the smoothing logic/buffering results in getting tagged by players that feel like they are a whole two seconds behind you, in addition to similar delays between tagging somebody and it showing their change or not registering at all.

I guess one more negative is me forcefully punching wooden furniture while making a frenzied escape from a horde of lava-monkeys, but that's on me. :)

Otherwise, well done y'all. I look forward to seeing how you improve this.

The concept is awesome and I enjoyed playing the early dungeons, but some of the core mechanics of the game are frustrating and deprive the player of agency in a bad way.

I want to play this more, but these problems keep stacking against me:
- You can't see what type of enemy is about to spawn until after they spawned, meaning you can't make room-specific strategic decisions other than glass in the back, beef in the front, group for best ability usage.
- If you do poorly in one room, your next rooms will be exponentially worse.
- The heckin burrow-explosion trickster tanks in the second level of the plant biome TPK me every time. :v

The game has a lot of fun at its core, but small pivotal design flaws ruin its potential entertainment of challenge and make me not want to play it anymore, let alone recommend it to my friends.

Biggest flaw of these: In order to improve your character's power within a run, you must pick up scrolls. You cannot see or identify what a scroll does until you bump into it, and once you do, you are forced to pick it up. A lot of these are positive, but some are significant trade-offs the player can be forced into. Some of these can invalidate a character class. Some can even reset the entire level.

I've played and enjoyed games with cursed items like "Amulet of Strangulation" that do exactly what you'd expect. The big difference is that your lesson is "don't use magic items without identifying them", rather than "sometimes the game decides you lose."

Love the game. Adds a whole new dimension to the Risk of Rain experience, and this feels like the right direction.

Co-op has been a blast, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well the networking has worked so far, plus the ability to rejoin a match and keep progression. A few minor bugs, but nothing game-breaking once the match gets started.

I've gone through all the current content so far, and I'm looking forward to what the team is going to deliver next.

High quality core experience. Awesome feeling rhythmic dance of swords.
Limited number of songs, but a supportive mod community adds a large database of new quality content.

Something you can show to anyone, people quickly say "VR IS SO COOL" in addition to asking to play again.

I recommend trying a reverse grip with the vive controllers: Feels weird at first, but can make some interesting maneuvers that are harder with a forward grip.

Shoot n' loot that brings back awesome memories of Borderlands 1 while adding new content.

This game is just plain awesome. The horse physics are kind of weird and AI can be silly at times, but that doesn't matter when you get to beat up freaking DRAGONS.
