One of the best turn based games ever. It's a shame the owners of the IP don't appreciate how strong the original game mechanics were. The brand new games are not the same.

This takes me back to Myst.

I'm an old-head here and the experience of playing this takes me close to my first experience playing Myst in 1993. It builds a environment full of mystery, many stories, lore, quietude, reflection, and lots of beauty. In fact Myst attempted an early MMORPG and it failed to take off. There are probably many reasons why, one of which is that type of casual MMO game play was novel at the time. No one understood how to approach that experience. That's not the case anymore.

In fact Book of Travels just feels like a slower paced Myst. This may sound like a negative to some but this is partly because it's still in its early form. I would imagine the experience itself can change in time.

This is really the type of game play I'm seeking. I want to be able to enter an environment, discovers things, hear stories, and do it at a relaxing pace. I'm very prepared to support this project.

Wish this was on Mac. I used to play it on an older Windows system. I need my sea-based trading game. It's calm, relaxing, at times challenging when random events occur.

Now that I realize this is end of the franchise, I have to say it has a very disapointing end. I won't spoil it but it ruins the experience of narrative that comes before it. The story of Gordon Freeman has the most absurd, closure in gaming history.
