This is my favorite game of all time (followed by Trails in the Sky SC and Transistor). It gets the Ys formula to perfection. Dana is the best character in a video game and perhaps in anything I've seen, going through more hardship and tragedy than you can imagine. The music is fantastic and I will listen to it for a very long time. Check out Icluscian Dance for an example. The recent build added 2-player coop so I will be replaying it with my son when he starts being able to control 3D characters (too young at the moment), and I will also redo it for an Inferno run from scratch later as well, when I start forgetting the story. Gameplay-wise Dana in Luminous mode is the most fun I've ever had in an action RPG, it's so fast and responsive, I love it.

I would have played sooner but I saw there was lots of issues at release time so I waited. But I shouldn't have waited this long!

I agree with your review, music is fantastic, and I still do listen to it regularly. You were lucky to play after all patches, because I had it pre-ordered at the time and that was really bad. I'm glad they fixed this gem on pc, it's definitely the best action jrpg here, without a doubt.
