I came back to the game right before lightfall released and enjoyed the entirety of witchqueen, the story was grounded, everything had value, and jokes were amusing. The hype for lightfall and the enjoyment of the previous expansion had made me extremely excited. After playing lightfall, this is easily the poorest attempt to storytelling that bungie has tried. Why are we being rushed to a new arena that lore has been hinting too and it feels like nothing is happening when we get there? Somehow we are supposed to feel rushed to rescue the veil but we for some reason have sooooo much time that we can introduce strand and also have a training montage that was cringe. That took over the potential of explaining neomuna, the two characters who should be explained in depth are never explained with more than two sentences. In the end you're left confused and it feels like a really slow trainwreck.

Gameplay wise: Love it, strand is an amazing subclass and it feels really nice to run and play with. The new raid, love the area, loved the fights, hated how easy contest mode was.

Honestly the only reason you should buy the expansion is if you like strand or if you want the raid, otherwise if you want intriguing story, its a no.
