Hey, if you're waffling about Torchlight, grab the Humble Bundle 6 - it includes the first Torchlight, as well as Gratuitous Space Battles and SPAZ, both of which are fun. It's OK. I'm enjoying it now but it took me some time to get into it. It's like Diablo as well except FPS. I got it for free with my new video card, lol, never played the first one.

It's mindless fun, which is great.
