The game was in rough shape when it was released at the end of 2021. Several core and QOL features were missing (such as color picking, chat commands, global que, shift-queueing [only partially]) despite being a solid game at the core. There were some bugs and balancing issues. But the game has been in good shape for most of 2023. Two new civs in a free update. And now a juicy DLC. This is a an RTS gamer's dream. If you had any qualms about buying AoE4 till now, now is the time to try it, be it with the game pass. This DLC makes important additions in terms of civs (two of which get a new soundtrack voices, models etc.) and even adds a new campaign. They are really not charging enough for what they offer.

The only issue is that the servers were overloaded due to the sudden increase in players. It's alright now though. Definitely recommed.
