I was originally going to give this a negative review because I liked the console version better, I decided to give this game another spin the other day, and I love it. If you played the console version, this isn't much different. The game, being known for being a "clone" by Minecraft fanboys, is much different from Minecraft. This game is focused on combat and boss battles, unlike MInecraft, which is for sandbox creation, not combat, even with mods. I find the gameplay to be intense and enjoyable, especially with boss battles. I remember my friend and I always becoming overconfident and thinking we can beat Skeletron, even with our strategies all planned out, but we got whooped all the time. It was funny, enjoyable, and addicting. I wanted to relive these days, so I got the PC version. I did find the crafting menu a bit harder to understand because for one, it's barely visible, and two, it doesn't show what the other items you can get are, so that way you could see how to get them. The music is fine, and the graphics would probably be the thing that sticks out with Minecraft and Terraria. People would whine, "Minecraft is better cuz it haz 3D blox unliek Terraria which haz 2D old looking grafix LOL." TBH, I enjoy the graphics more than I did with Minecraft, because all Minecraft really has is blocks that can be used like Legos, so that isn't very original if you think about it. Nor is Terraria being original, but Terraria isn't being original in a better way Minecraft is. The one other thing, some people might say I have no skill for this, is that this game is actually pretty difficult. Skeletron and crew are all forces to be reckoned with. Eye of Cthulhu was always an extremely easy boss, same goes with King Slime, so they aren't part of this crew. The Twins, for me, personally were the hardest of all the bosses. Anyway, if you know me well, I love difficult games and is always willing to be challenged, so I enjoy this. Terarria isn't the greatest indie game of all time, but it would certainly make the top 10, maybe even the top 5.

The ultimate "Furry Chuck Norris" simulator.

I've been keeping my eye on this game for a while and I was curious to see why this game got so much praise. Curiousity killed me, so I bought the game, and now I know why this game gets lots of love. The gameplay, which is my favorite thing, is awesome. You can choose the way you want to kill. Slam the door in their face and slit their throat, or maybe you'd prefer going in a room guns blazing and throwing anything you'd find. It's fast paced with some stealth elements, which I honestly never thought I'd see. I'm also at the point where I'm about to break this computer because of the difficulty. Well, that's a good thing, because I rarely ever get the thought of doing that, no matter how hard the difficulty. At a close second, the soundtrack takes that spot. It goes well with the game and makes it even more hectic than it already is. I really have no say on the graphics, other than they did a pretty nice job. This goes the same with the story, because who needs a story when you're busy beating people up with an animal mask on? The one issue with the game is that it is somewhat buggy, and you have to download something once you get the game. I don't know if it works with earlier Windows computers if you do need to download anything, but I know you do with Win8. It can be a bit buggy and sometimes the AI acts like they're superhumans and come kill you from the other side of the building when you do a silent kill with no one around and then begin to snipe you with a shotgun. Other than those problems, I do really enjoy this game.

Gameplay- 9/10
Story- 6.5/10

I finally got my hands on this wonderful game. I gotta say, it is worth every penny, although I bought this with keys, well, erm...

Anyway, I really like Spelunky overall. It is a rogue-lite game (Roguelikes with key differences) with endless replayability. I'm loving this game. A lot. The difficulty is pretty insane, and I love that. Well, I kinda did learn to deal with rage from BOI and FTL... The graphics are cartoony and somewhat sweet, although there is a darker tone to it (e.g. blood, gore, etc etc) and surprises everywhere. The gameplay, at first, is extremely difficult, because you'll try to whip your damsel here and there and accidently kill them, but hey, we all learn from our mistakes, one damsel at a time. Which brings me to another good reason about this game: Even though in lots of roguelikes and roguelites we learn from our mistakes, Spelunky, to me, seems the most visible when it comes to learning from mistakes, which makes it easier for me to understand what I did wrong. Also, at the end, when you die, it'll show your corpse and how you died. Sometimes moments before you die and moments after, something funny will happen. Once, I got hit by a bat and fell to my death, but an arrow shot me and I flew far away and ended my short life by getting impaled by spikes. Another time, I got impaled by spikes, and when it showed my corpse, I noticed my body suddenly jumped off the spikes and hit a snake and killed it. I found those to be hilarious moments, and I cannot WAIT to discover more. The one downside to this game is the soundtrack for me. It just seemed boring and dull, although the song that plays when you're in a shop is pretty relaxing, the rest are pretty dull. I haven't played this game for long, but overall, I'm loving every bit of it.

Graphics- 8.5/10
Gameplay- 8.5/10
Story- 6/10

.:7.7/10:.

+Learn from mistakes
+Very funny deaths
+Simple gameplay
+Tons of items
-Bad soundtrack
-Glitchy
-Linear in some ways

I'd appreciate it if you checked out my blog, where I do reviews, giveaways, and more:

*NOTE: This review includes the Brave New World add-on, it makes the game alot better. Trust me!*

Alexander the Great (Greece) reviews the components needed to make the Spaceship. He notices that he needs the engine, but doesn't have the proper technology to obtain this piece for a Scientific victory. Angered at this, he asks his remaining friends for some research agreements to get the tech he needs to win. He gets two from his friends, Ramkhamhaeng (Did I spell that right? Anyway, Siam) and also Pedro II (Brazil) but it wouldn't go into effect for about 30 turns. Alex just groans and begins to switch up his productions and his science so he can aim toward getting that engine. Oda Nobunaga (Japan) then begins to take down Ramesses II's (Egypt) last city, which was his capital. Siam gets angered by seeing that Oda is taking down all of their allies, and attempts to charge at him. Japan was able to sweep his army and destroyed all of his cities with his deadly ability where wounded units still fight at full strength. Pedro II sends a Spy to Oda's capital to see where he will strike next: Him or Alex. Alex and Pedro set up some defenses and attempt to build a wall to defend themself from this unstoppable force. Oda decides to hit Pedro first, and slowly takes down all of his cities, one by one, and took down Rio de Janeiro. The Greek forces began to hold the enemy Marines and Paratroopers off. After a successful ambush by an XCOM Unit, Alexander had some time to finish up the engine technology. The next turn, Sparta and all of the other cities besides Athens were destroyed by Oda's unstoppable force. However, right when Oda was about to charge in and destroy Greece, both Research Agreements were used and got the technology needed. Alex quickly moved all his units away from Athens and used his remaining gold to purchase the engine. It was pricey, but he was able to attach it to the Spaceship. Japanese units were closing in fast, and the Greek soldiers started dying quickly, but right when the artillery was about to fire, they all see the glorius sight of a spaceship flying in the sky and going to space. Oda looks at the spaceship and starts yelling in defeat, knowing that he lost to Greece with a Scientific victory, right when they were about to get a Domination victory.

In Civilization V, or Civ, those events are actually pretty common. It takes a little while to get used to, but once you get into it, it becomes very addictive to the point you haven't slept in days. Yep, days. My head is pretty rotten right now from playing this, but god, you NEED this game. If you got to purchase any game on Steam for free, make it this. Just buy it. You WILL love it, and I guarantee it. Even if the AI can be annoying... But yeah, just friggin BUY IT.

Why are you still reading this!? Why haven't bought this game yet? Gandhi is going to NUKE YOU SO HARD, he could just- *whack*

Hello, Gandhi here. You better buy this game or else I'm willing to nuke you and your cities. And your family. And your friends. And everyone you know. And just about everyone else on this planet.
