State of Decay is one of the best zombie games in recent memory. However, I wouldn't call it perfection. In fact, this game has plenty of flaws.

In the graphics section, I found it to be pretty nice for the most part. However, in the beginning of the game, the lighting is absolutely terrible and hurt my eyes a bit. Despite that, the visuals were extremely nice and I was itching to take a few nice screenshots. However, I can't call it the #1 best part. It's still very well done.

The gameplay is heated, difficult, and in some ways, realistic. The gameplay is probably the best part to the game. When you think of zombie games, I assume that you would imagine some dude with a six-pack running around shirtless with shades on dual wielding sub-machine guns, right? State of Decay is NOT like that. These are just human beings we're talking about, not supersoldiers. In fact, if there's anyone people would consider cheap in this game, it would be the Army. But hey, we're talking about the Army here. Did you really think a soldier would be running around and getting tired quick and having a miserable aim? Anyway, running away from hordes IS NOT a good idea. I've tried to run several times, but I've only gotten out alive once or twice. The people who did survive had severe injuries, were extremely tired, or have no useful items left on them. The vehicles are simple enough to drive, and making them limited just makes the game even harder. Very good gameplay.

The story is cliche, no doubt. Survivors are holed up in a certian place (In State of Decay, Trumbull County) and the Army refuses to help. However, it seems rather difficult to actually come up with a decent plot for a zombie survival game without realizing someone else did that already.

The audio is above average at most. The voice acting is fine, at times weak. It sometimes sounds sarcastic or the mic is far away. However, some of the actors do provide some emotion. The music is great for a zombie survival game, and I usually rely on the music to tell me if the zeds are nearby. Although again, the music is a bit cliche since several zombie survival games (and even shows) use guitars or things like that for their soundtrack. But, the soundtrack is very good in this game and is better than lots of other games and shows that use the soundtrack like this.

The replayability is very strong in this game. If you beat the game, you can play through it again once or twice. There's also the two DLC packs that were very critically acclaimed you can buy, too. I didn't get either one yet, but Breakdown looks extremely fun. It's actually number one on my wishlist right now.

State of Decay does have a few other major flaws I'd like to point out: The AI in this game is absolutely HORRIBLE. One of my survivors stood there doing ABSOLUTELY nothing while getting eaten by a horde of zombies. Since my guy was tired, I had to run the zombies over. And because usually the survivors dodge the car, he just stood there, doing absolutely nothing. When I hit him, he stood there and I lost trust with him. It was even one of the trust missions where someone is feeling angry, sad, or whatever. He also took like half an hour to get all of his things while the houses next to him were infested when we rescued him. Still though, BAD AI. The dialogue is repetitive and there's not many stories when you're bringing survivors back home. That's probably about it in terms of major flaws.

In the end, State of Decay is quite fun and there's lots to do, but the game has some very major flaws that can ruin your experience. Either way, this is a game I'd recommend for any zombie survival fan.

Oh, Miranda. Oh, dear Miranda...

Mass Effect 2. You've had to have heard those words at least once in your gaming life. Whether if it was a Youtube video, or maybe just chatting with a friend. You had to have heard of this legendary title. Well, I'm here to say that Mass Effect 2 is EASILY one of the finest games of last generation.

I'll start with the visuals. I have to admit, the visuals in this game are still very impressive, even after nearly four years. If you are a friend of mine, you would probably notice that I frequently take screenshots of in-game stuff, usually something about it's beauty. Now, I've played numerous games that are really stunning, but I haven't taken this many screenshots for a game since Skyrim. I'm HIGHLY impressed with this game's graphics.

The gameplay is a very strong point in the game. Mass Effect 1 was more tactical and people didn't like that, along with squadmate abilities, some in-game choices, and more. However, Mass Effect 2's gameplay was much smoother, even if lots of ME1 RPG elements were taken out. The gunfights were heated and awesome. Choosing squadmates and using the abilities they have make the game have a slightly more strategic approach. However, when you could actually have an option to do something else. In one mission, one of my squadmates said that we could sneak past the enemies, but when I attempted to do so, there was no way of actually sneaking past them without triggering the alarm, thus making some missions pretty linear.

The story is a step down from the first Mass Effect and even the third Mass Effect. It goes completely off topic. But, there's a reason why I'm praising the game in the "story" section. It's simple. The lore in this game is INCREDIBLE. When you search planets for resources to survive missions, you need to scan the planet and send probes to retrieve your materials. Before you do scan though, there is a decent sized blurb that describes life on the planet and lots of facts about the planet. There's lots more, too. However, you'd just have to buy the game so you can be amazed by that. Also, the CHARACTERS. The best part about this game is the CHARACTERS. Tali is a little clumsy, especially around me. Grunt has an aggresive attitude and lusts for bloodshed. Mordin is crazy, and seems like he cares little for death, and talks in an extremely fast pace. Should I describe anyone else? I didn't think so. Although the plot was rather off-topic and poorly done, I praise this part of the game highly for lore and characters.

The audio is just alright. It seems like A. The same music is played over and over again or B. All the songs sound the same. This is probably the weak point to this unforgettable RPG. Even friends of mine agree, the music in this game is just meh. However, I do think the voice actors did a strong, strong performance for their roles.

The replayability is actually pretty good. Beat the game? Play as a Renegade, or maybe play as a heroic Paragon. Play as the opposite gender. Side with someone else. "Do it" with another romance option. There's lots to do, and there's even some DLC you can download. You have quite a bit to do.

The key problems to this game include the following: Lots of glitches, the space bar seems to be overused, making cover/run/interact/etc a bit clunky. The game is somewhat linear. That's about it!

In the end, Mass Effect 2 is one of the best RPGs of last gen, but also one of the best GAMES of last gen. It's amazing, and I highly, highly, highly recommend it. Go "do it" with Miranda, would you?

EDIT: Couldn't help but come up with this:

The day I got The Walking Dead was "A New Day." The game's story was done well, and I got into it fast. There were big twists and events "Around Every Corner." I knew when I started this game, there would be a "Long Road Ahead." I would get so wrapped into this game, sometimes I was "Starved For Help." The journey was amazing, but by next morning, I realized that there was "No Time Left." I sobbed, and went to work, which I now call Savannah.

"It's enough to make a grown man cry..."
-Officer Earl, 10/10

"I've played thousands of hours and had my heart touched 176 times so far. It really hurts. How do you turn that off?"
-John Gamerson, 10/10

"It's okay"
-IGN, 11/10

The Walking Dead, famous for the comic and TV show, finally gets a game. Finally. After the release of this, Survival Instinct came out, and we all know how that turned out. Although Telltale's The Walking Dead is obviously the best Walking Dead game, I think it's one of the best of last generation. Trust me, this is one unforgettable ride you don't want to miss.

The gameplay is basically nonexistent in this game. I would be angry. but this is a POINT AND CLICK game about making relationships. Unlike games such as Mass Effect, where you have all day to answer a single question, you have only a matter of seconds to decide your answer. There are a few quick events, but that's about it. Making the decisions, which heavily affect how the story is told, is definitely the key part to the gameplay.

The story is one of the finest I've seen in years. Although most of the story is decided by you (Like I said before) I'll be nice enough to provide the "baseplate." Your name is Lee. You are a convicted killer and you were on your way to jail when suddenly a walker came out of nowhere and stopped the trip. Early on in Lee's trip, he meets a young 9 year old girl named Clementine, who is alone in her treehouse, hiding from all of the walkers. Lee's job is to protect Clementine from all danger. Along the way, he meets some key characters like Omid and Christa, Kenny, Ben, and Lillith. The story was well done, and the ending... Oh man, the ending was one of the saddest moments I've ever seen in gaming. Get this game for the story, whether you watch The Walking Dead or not.

The visuals took some time to get used to, but I got into it pretty quick. They're supposed to look like the comic. I think whoever did the graphics did an amazing job. While I didn't like Borderland's visuals, even if they seem similar to The Walking Dead's, I think this game did a much better job of the comic visuals.

The audio is awesome, especially the credits song. The voice actors played their roles very well, especially Lee and Clementine. Those two characters alone have more emotion than most AAA characters. I highly praise the voice actors.

The replayability, however, is just average. You can replay the game for different outcomes, but I'd think most people just do a one-and-done kind of playthrough. Don't expect much for the replayability.

There are a few problems I have this game. One is the fact that the whole game is covered in bugs and glitches, much like the walkers who roam it. I also think some of the characters were a little poorly done, like Larry and Molly. They seem like there is too much of something for them. In Molly's case, she made me think of Faith from the Mirror's Edge games in many ways. Larry seemed like he was a little too grumpy, and had little personality other than his anger.

Overall, The Walking Dead is unforgettable. The game was very well done and I praise it highly. It's a definite must buy from me if you don't mind the little amounts of combat and the other flaws. If you think you're so tough and you can overcome anything and not cry about it, then how about you give this game a try. You'll regret the day you ever said that comment.

"Pants buckling intensifies"

BattleBlock Theater was created by popular indie dev The Behemoth, known for two of some of the greatest indie titles pre-indie game era: Castle Crashers and Alien Hominid. Now, after quite a wait, the third popular title of The Behemoth's games is released, but does it live up to expectations? Yes, but not by much.

Graphics

I'll start with visuals. It honestly isn't much different from Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers, but I still do like the simple style of the game. Oh yes, and it does have the "1,000,000,000p graphics with high resolution super texture technology that modern human eyeballs can't even see." Trust me, that narrator does NOT lie. The graphics in this game make my eyeballs melt at times. It's so simple that I can't see the amazing hyper realistic textures this game has!

Gameplay

Now, I'll move to the gameplay that includes the "state of the art ragdoll physics." Sorry to doubt you Mr. Narrator, but there isn't much ragdoll from what I've seen. Is there "particle physic future systems?" Yes. The gameplay is simple, if a bit dull. The combat is somewhat clunky and can be annoying when playing PvP. Not much to this platformer, especially from Behemoth.

Story

Story time? I believe that would be a yes. The story, believe it or not, is humorous and pretty enjoyable. I'll try and not say much, but I'll explain the main plot: Your best friend, Hatty Hattington, you, and other friends go on a trip on the S.S. Friendship, but get shipwrecked on a mysterious island run by cats. Yes, cats. They give Hatty a corrupt top hat that makes him betray his friends and make him the leader of the cats. Especially when you add the humorous narrator that is quite underrated, great story overall.

Audio

Now we move to the audio. Okay, there isn't much to the audio, but the narration is very humorous and well done, despite not getting much praise compared to The Stanley Parable and Bastion's narrators. The music is above average, and uses choir in some rather creative ways. Oh yeah, and there's people make sounds when you do stuff. "11/10 its okay" -IGN

Replayability

Finally, we hit the replayability. Honestly, there isn't much to do that I saw post game, although I did enjoy making some levels. PvP, like I said, has clunky controls, Insane Mode doesn't seem as fun as it was in Castle Crashers, and that's about it. You could get a couple hours into the game, but I wouldn't expect too much.

Verdict

Overall, BattleBlock Theater meets expectations, but not by much. It did need some work in some very important areas, but was successful with the narrator's humor and large amount of content. I would buy this at about half off and say it was well worth it, so I would wait for a sale to get this game. However, it still is a game you shouldn't try to miss.

Graphics- 7/10

+Awesome narrator
+Lots of content
+Great story
+Lots of creative songs
-Clunky combat
-Not much to do post game, depsite all the content
-Dull overall gameplay

**AT THE TIME OF THIS REVIEW, I COMPLETED ONE PLAYTHROUGH ON NORMAL, SO SOME POINTS COULD BE MISSED**

Castle Crashers, developed by indie devs The Behemoth, became famous at the release of one of the top selling games on XBLA, Castle Crashers. It was highly praised by many and lots of my friends used to play and were obsessed with the game. I wasn't much of an Xbox guy at the time, and therefore did not buy it. After four years of castle crashing, it was finally released on PC. Then, over a year later, I decided to give this game a whirl and bought it. I must tell you, I was very impressed.

I'll start with the visuals. I actually enjoy the graphics in the game, taking a rather simple style. It doesn't get all artsy like Braid and Bastion, nor does it get too realistic like Crysis. It sits in the middle, and I'm happy it doesn't have graphics like that. Not all indie games need to be artsy and heavily story based platfomers or whatever. For the most part, I do like the visuals this game offers.

Now, I'll move to the gameplay. This is probably the first reason Castle Crashers is so awesome. It's a beat-em-up game, so let me make this clear: THE ENEMIES ARE TOUGHER THAN THEY SEEM. Be warned when buying this if you're looking for a simple, kill-this-guy-quick kind of game. You WILL be dissappointed. The gameplay is simple, yet challenging. I didn't discover any horribly unbalanced weapons, which makes the game even better. Bosses are usually quite easy, but there are a few notorious bosses in the game to look out for, none of which are extremely hard. One other thing this game has is an arena where you can duel it out with friends or fight groups of enemies. I love the gameplay, but not the best part to this game.

Story time, kids! I have very little to say for the story. Repetitive and cliche, but adds some unique twists to the generic "kill the wizard and save the princess" kind of style.

Audio is good mostly, but could be fine tuned so there are some more individual boss themes, like most of the bosses besides the final boss. I could be incorrect, but for some of the major bosses, it was a simple theme, while others didn't even have a theme at all!

Now for the best part about this game: The replayability. After you beat a short campaign (which is actually necessary in this case) then you can beat it as another character. You can unlock the 28 Animal Orbs, the 30 characters, and then beat the game with all of them, then you can go to insane mode after completion. You can also find all of the weapons to this game, play All You Can Quaff, which is a food eating game or something like that, Arena, which is simply a battle arena, and maybe help a few newbie friends or anyone in the CC community that is new or even a veteran. On average, most of my friends who play with me have usually 200 hours, and they only have one or two level 99 characters. Quite a bit of content here, so there is about 500 hours, maybe tops, if you're extremely dedicated to doing everything this game has to offer. Kind of surprising for me, even for this kind of game.

Just a few flaws I want to point out: The shield is pretty clunky and is pretty difficult and annoying to use. Also, because this is a PC port, it seemed a bit rushed and only showed the buttons for an Xbox 360 controller. One other issue I found is that the multiplayer can be quite laggy, and can ruin multiplayer experiences sometimes. However, that isn't too frequent for me.

Overall, Castle Crashers is an amazing game that I cannot stop playing. I highly recommend this game, and I'm always willing to play with you guys. Add me if you want to play!

This game was quite a steal.

What? No one on drums? Do I REALLY have to do this? Ugh, screw it. To the review!

Monaco: What's Yours Is Mine is an indie game released last year. It is stealth and puzzle based, with some action elements in it and a whole lot of teamwork. For the most part, I really enjoy the game. Seeing there's so much to say, I'll say it as best as I can, like I say in pretty much all of my reviews.

We'll start off with, hmm... How about visuals. Y'know what they say, "First is the worst, second is the best, third is the one with the (Treasure, hairy, etc) chest." So, like that said, "First is the worst." Allthough, the graphics aren't all that bad. They just don't compare to the greatness of the rest of the game. It has the retro feel to it. Kinda stale, as lots of indie games do that, but I've seen worse.

So, second is the best. I give the gameplay the "2nd is the best" award. The gameplay is so, open. You can choose your playstyles and take advantage of that with one of the eight classes to choose from. If you want to run around and knock people out so your teammates can get to the next floor or car, pick the Cleaner. If the place is heavily guarded with lasers and such, pick the Hacker. If you're too lazy to strategize and want to get to the next floor, choose the Mole. There are many secrets to discover, and some of them can actually be quite humorous. So yeah, you can explore the rooms to get all the loot, since there is no time limit. No, I'm not done yet. Did I mention that there was a LEVEL EDITOR? For you creative minds out there (like myself, no, seriously!) you will enjoy the level editor. It is very simple to use. After looking at a guide made by Andy Nguyen, the man that designed most of the levels in Monaco, I was able to learn how to add lasers and such. I discovered that unlike other difficult level editors *cough* Super Meat Boy *cough* I was able to create a level. The only other game that I can think of with a level editor that simple is LittleBigPlanet. If anything, Monaco's level editor is easier to use, and you're talking to an LBP fanboy. Okay, let's continue before I begin to talk about LBP...

I'll go to the story next. Although there isn't much of a story, there are pre-dialogues before every mission, so you can get info on what's going on. I thought it was acceptable and a little surprising to see how well done it is. I have low expectations on story, unless it's a huge story based game. I think Monaco's story is interesting. Especially for the Lockpicker's story. But hey, there isn't much else to say.

Now, for the audio. Not much to it. Okay, not much to it when talking about the AI. Okay. I take that back. There are lots of awesome sounds in this game. That's it. Fooled you! I didn't talk about the magnificent soundtrack. Monaco's songs are mostly piano songs, but when played in a game like this, it was done in an amazing way. It's not an "Oh. My. God. Drooling! Drooling! Drooling! Drooling!" soundtrack, not like Bastion's or FTL's anyway, but I enjoy it.

Replayability time. Since I only have a couple hours into the game, I don't know much about replayability. However, I do know it does last you quite some time. You can try and get #1 on the All-Time list for the record times, or you could design more levels. It's up to you. What's funny is that these paragraphs are all small except for gameplay. Well, I'm doing my best to keep this not biased.

Now, for the flaws. Don't worry, almost done! Despite Monaco's many, many pros, there are some pretty major flaws that need to be pointed out. Okay, to be honest, it's one major flaw. Ready? The AI in this game is HORRIBLE. And I do mean HORRIBLE. So, I climb up a ladder to hide from guards, but one climbs up, walks right through me, and climbs down without noticing me right IN FRONT OF HIM. Also, I ran away from another group of guards, not far away and still visible, I stay there and wait for the pursuing guards to catch me. What's the problem? Those lazy fatasses decided to go back to their post. There are countless more stories about how big of morons these guards are. Want me to tell you some more? No? That's what I thought. Let's finish this thing.

In conclusion, Monaco is an amazing game. Fun, simple gameplay mechanics, neat soundtrack, a surprising story, and pretty impressive replayability, you'll definitely enjoy the game. One of the few gems from last year the I, personally, think should have gotten more praise, despite it already having a couple positive reviews. However, the moron AI makes the game a lot less difficult and lame. If you don't mind bad AI and stale graphics, then you're in for one enfer d'un tour, which means "hell of a ride" in French.

Graphics: 5/10

Hooolllyyy mother of God, this game is amazing. I don't know what makes this game, so, awesome. After seeing the release of Transistor, I decided to review this wonderful game. I have no idea though. The narrator? Visuals? Soundtrack? Either way, I must say, I haven't played a masterpiece quite like this in such a long time. To me, it outclasses Braid, which, for some odd reason, is used to compare Bastion, but don't have much in common. Man, where to begin...

I guess I'll start with the visuals. The art in this game is absolutely amazing. It was done extremely, extremely well. Everything was painted beautifully, and I can't help but love everything about it. It makes you feel like an adventurer. You're curious to explore and willing to take risks. You just can't help but stop, take in all of the scenery, and realize you spent an hour staring at the visuals. All of it is wonderful, and if you mix it with the soundtrack, oh man. Ohmanohmanohman!

Soundtrack is next. It's kinda hard to admit, but after drooling over the Super Meat Boy and Faster Than Light soundtracks, these songs will make you drool out a waterfall. Before you know it, you'll have created the "Drool Ocean," which covers all of Earth. It's just that amazing. Just go on Bandcamp, iTunes, Youtube, whatever. I swear to GOD, you will start loving that soundtrack.

Now for the best part of this game: The narration. One player, dunno if it was Steam, but I remember him saying this: "His voice is velvet silk on this wonderful game" or something along those lines. I'm a madman, I know. But this narrator makes me think of Morgan Freeman. I don't know why, but he does. To me, this guy might just be the Morgan Freeman of gaming, no joke. He's a god. He speaks with more emotion than most AAA characters, heroes, villains, etc etc COMBINED. If you never heard his voice. PLEASE. I'm BEGGING YOU. PLEASE look him up on Youtube.

Last but not least, the gameplay and replayability. The gameplay is simple, hack and slash controls. It's simple, but a little bland, and I admit, this is probably the weakpoint of the game. The difficulty is very easy, and I have no difficulty fighting enemies, even with the shrines. The weakweakpoint of this game, yes, weakweakpoint, is the length. You can easily beat the game in a few hours. I'm about to finish my first playthrough already! It's that short. However, the game is pretty replayable, so that's a good thing. You have about 20 hours or so of fun for this game.

I'd appreciate it if you checked out my blog, where I do reviews, giveaways, and more:
https://gandhigaming.wordpress.com/

Okay, I know some people will whine about my opinion, but let me state my responses to your issues...

"You only have a couple of hours on the game."
How many negative reviews do you read? You'd be surprised by the number of people who have less hours on games and make extremely valid points.

"The game is still in Early Access, Way to be helpful."
Well aware of that. I see a pretty bright future for the game.

"Welcome to the world of Roguelikes/Roguelites."
Sorry, did you check to see what games are in my library?

"Whine whine whine whine whine and whine."
Erm, was that really needed?

Alright, here we go. Here goes my rant...

Pixel Piracy is being published by Re-Logic, the devs behind one of my personal favorite Indie games: Terraria. Do they get cut slack because I love Terraria so much? Nope. The gameplay is a bit repetitive, even for a roguelike. I'm a big fan of roguelikes and enjoy playing them a lot. However, this one isn't that good. The exploration thing is alright, but it could've used more detail. Managing your ship is a pain in the ass due to being overwhelmed with food, crewmembers, poop, ship upgrades, health, and more. It overwhelms me even more than FTL does. The graphics are average at the most, and there isn't much to it. YES, I understand this is pixelated graphics, but to the people out there who lack intelligence, I DON'T LIKE THE WAY THE PIXELATED VISUALS WERE USED. There.

The audio, oh god, the dang audio. It is so ANNOYING listening to "Me hardy har!" every three seconds. Yes, I'm well aware of this thing called 'mute' and it ruins the game, too.

The game, which I do understand, as it is in Early Access, has very little content. If it were the full game, I would rate this lower, but seeing that it isn't, I won't even bother with that. However, on the bright side of this, Pixel Piracy does have a pretty good future ahead, but it wouldn't be one of the greatest roguelikes of recent memory, like Dungeons of Dredmor and FTL. Also, for an Early Access game, I discovered little to no bugs. I've played many Early Access games, and this one was probably the best running of all of them. One other thing I saw is that it does have quite the replayability, and that it is one of those games that you dislike, but you can't help but play it anyway.

So, in conclusion, I understand the game is in Early Access, but I've played better games that came out with less content, more bugs, etc etc. If you buy it and like it, then great. I'm happy for you that it was worth it. However, I would approach this game with caution. I'm afraid that I cannot recommend this game.

EDIT: New Review in Progress as of 7/31/14

So far, based off of what I've played, it is much, much better now. The audio is much better, however the loops are very plain. The quality is much better, and the game runs great. However, the gameplay didn't change and the replayability lost it's spark. The exploration didn't change much but isn't as linear anymore. The overwhelming aspect of the game was organized much more now due to the new UI that is similar to FTL's. The devs are also very dedicated and seem to be very friendly compared to other devs out there. Kudos to them for releasing the game. And for the bright future part, looks like I was right. Most of the flaws I had with the game were fixed. Expect a positive review coming out soon.

EDIT: 8/10/14

Appears to be much more rushed than I thought. I encountered a few bugs and began disliking the game again. Forget what I said earlier about the positive review stuff. This one's staying negative.

FEZ is your average 2D platformer, but with a unique twist.

This game has had many negative ratings. Some because they consider the gameplay repetitive, others because of the developer, Phil Fish, insulting PCs and Japanese games, also quitting the gaming industry and stopping production on FEZ 2. I'm not big on Phil Fish, because of just about everything I listed. However, just because he is a jerk, that does not mean that this game is bad. I'll try and review this as best as I can.

FEZ is a 2D and 3D platformer. The main character, Gomez, gets a magical fez hat that gives him to see the third demention, and travel to other places he never even knew existed. The gameplay to this game is just like every other platformer, except the fact that you can switch sides of the world to make traveling easier, since Gomez isn't some supersoldier armed with giant machine guns while wearing shades or anything like that. If the gameplay had some more unique things to add on to that besides the 3D world thing, then I would have given this game a much higher rating. Please do note, however, that there is NO, ABSOLUTELY NO COMBAT IN THIS GAME WHATSOEVER. One other thing I must point out, and this is a downside, is that FEZ is very, very buggy. I had trouble exploring some worlds because of the bugs I found.

The world of FEZ is probably the best part to the game- with it's stunning environments that look even more beautiful with the 3D effect, and I love every bit of it. Even the animations for the creatures in the world (Excluding Gomez, who I think is just mediocre) look beautiful and well done. You'll fall in love with the worlds, just trust me.

The story, well, there isn't much of a story in this game. If you really want to find some info, you should just buy this game and then find out from there.

The characters are the same way, other than the villagers in Gomez's town, I didn't find many other characters besides you and that ANNOYING crystal thing who somewhat strikes a resemblance to Navi, from Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

The soundtrack for FEZ is amazing. It's soothing, calm, and peaceful. I enjoy the soundtrack for this game. It isn't the greatest, which I believe Faster Than Light holds that spot, but I do love it. When you pair it up with the world of this game, it was pieced together perfectly.

I'd say that's about all I can say for this game. Even though I have yet to finish the storyline, I am enjoying the game so far. I'll probably make a revised version of this game once I complete it. It's a very good game, and I recommend it if you don't mind not fighting anything.

Gameplay- 6.5/10
Story- 5/10
Audio- 9.5/10
Replayability- 7/10

.:8.3/10:.
+Lovely worlds
+Beautiful soundtrack
+Unique twist to 2D platformers
+Calming (Especially after you play Super Meat Boy, some might disagree)
-Buggy
-Nothing really new to it besides the 3D worlds
-Annoying follower (Forgot to mention- I even nicknamed him Navi 2.0)

Lone Survivor: Director's Cut is considered one of the best games from the horror genre in 2012. I'm one of the people who agree with this, and had a great time playing. Lone Survivor puts you in the shoes of an unnamed character, usually referred to as "You" and is claiming to be the last human on Earth. You are on the brink of losing your sanity because of you being alone, and you're tested to see if you can truly keep your sanity or not. The plot can be a little cliché, but the sanity part keeps it from being overused.

Although I do tend to prefer games that are more gameplay based, this one is an exception, along with a few others. Being from the horror genre, there isn't really much for the gameplay. If you expect a game where you have an arsenal of deadly weapons and you run around thinking you're Rambo, then trust me, you do NOT want to buy this game. DO NOT. However, when you are given the chance to go into combat against one of these enemies, the battle is usually very heated and fast paced, and the battle will end before you even know it.

The graphics are probably the reason this game is popular. It provides a whole new view on the horror genre, using pixelated graphics to make you whine and scream for your mother in a corner with your stuffed animal. Okay, let's not push it THAT FAR. We'll get to the 'how scary is this' stuff later. I don't really have much to say, since pixelated graphics are more difficult for me to describe, other than it was done very well.

The soundtrack is excellent, and while I, again, have not much to say, it was very well done and highly praise it. Not unforgettable, but it's something you'd probably enjoy listening to while you play.

Now, for the part we've all been waiting for: How scary really is this game? Honestly, it's not really that creepy as it seems. When one of the enemies discovers you, then it can be a jump scare because of the sudden loud screeching you hear and the sudden change in the environment around you, but truthfully, even when playing this early in the morning, when it's still dark, and everyone is sleeping, with the sound up loud, this game isn't THAT scary.

Overall, Lone Survivor was quite an experience, and it has many endings to choose from, which I had forgotten to mention earlier. It provides another take on the horror genre, and does it successfully. All though the plot was a bit overused with being the "last man on Earth and blah blah blah" kind of thing, this was still a game that is very interesting.

+New take on the horror genre
+Nice soundtrack
+Heated gunplay (when it comes)
-Overused plot
