Looks like Saber went the Helldivers 2 route and totally went bonkers. Loading times suck, all classes now suck equally and the difficulties are now even worse. Why do games like these looks "promising" at launch but when updates start they go ballistic and screw up the PVE experience? Playing on Average now is like playing on Ruthless and the devs don't fix the crucial parts like connectivity issues but instead introduce meaningless "game balancing" (maybe what Saber meant as game balancing is more for the enemy rather than players).

To those who are thinking of buying the game, hold off until Saber realizes that what they implemented is way worse off then what was intended.

UPDATED Review 12/8/24
------------------------------

With the latest patch and new Premium Bond, this game has turned me off officially.

Playing additional 246 hours with friends was fun, DESPITE NProtect being run with protests around. But the latest nerfs and ridiculous "balances" to make the game "fun", it's more frustrating than ever, uninstalling this game and giving this updated review seems like the right thing to do. Smaller mag sizes, ridiculous enemy spawns just made me want to throw a physical game (if I had one) into the bin.

Save your time people, the creative directors think they're being smart by trying to implement PVP balances to a PVE game is basically time wasting both on the players and the company's time.

Uninstall this game. For Super Earth, and your sanity.

With the recent announcement of PSN trying to get us to link our PSN accounts when we already have Steam accounts playing, I’ll have to give a bad review for this product.

Don’t get me wrong, this game is GREAT and I’ve been playing since HD1, but with Sony can’t even keep their own data secure, this feels like a publisher trying to get our data and screwing over good people at Arrowhead.

Below is the history of Sony’s data breaches over the years.

October 2023: Sony Notifies Employees of Data Breach
September 2023: Sony Investigates Alleged Hack
August 2017: Hacker Group Accesses Sony Social Media Accounts
December 2014: PlayStation Network Taken Down by Christmas DDoS Attack
November 2014: Hackers Steal 100 Terabytes of Data from Sony Pictures
June 2011: Sony Pictures Website Hacked, Exposing One Million Accounts
May 2011: Personal Details on 25 Million Sony Online Entertainment Customers Stolen
April 2011: Hackers Access Personal Data of 77 Million Sony PlayStation Network Users
July 2008: PlayStation Site Targeted with SQL-Injection Attack, Prompting Visitors to Download Fake “Antivirus Scanner”

To be fair, my review will only change once Sony removes PSN linking AND removal of their NProtect GameGuard, which is over excessive invasion of privacy for a pure cooperative game

Updated Review!

They've fixed many issues, however some remain. Still, it skews towards the good part now :)

Pros

- Gundam lovers, you'll love the lore
- Quick games, on even matches can be quite tight but fun!
- Different units have different roles, variety is good

Cons

- Scoreboard isn't clear, UI isn't clear at all. UX is really bad
- Match complete screen, doesn't really show everything. Only your own stats which makes it kinda solo feel when you're playing with teammates
- Wish they would detail the units and what kind of roles they play, trying to figure out what they do is a steep learning curve and a huge entry barrier for beginners

Being honest, it's fun WHEN it works. Most of the time, I've encountered weird bugs like not being able to look up or down after exiting a chopper, getting random disconnects, UNABLE to join a friend's game even though i've passed the queue (it just kicks me back to the main page and says "Party leader is matchmaking", seriously figure out your process flow for matchmaking), stuck on weapon switching, bugged when trying to throw recon grenades, unable to get out of crouch stance.

I could go on and on, but honestly it's frustrating. We paid to NOT be alpha/beta testers, which is at this point sad and funny at the same time considering EA being the publisher of games that don't go through proper QA.

My advice? Let DICE sort out their issues and then join back, you're not missing out much
