~ HONEST REVIEW: NO SPOILERS ~ (read it b4 steam prt) TLDR at bottom!!

Firstly, I read alot of VN's, Mangas, Light Novels you name it, Including murder mysteries & fantasy, Yes almost all of them "suck" (when compared to Umineko) it's a fact, period. Umineko is in the top 3, possibly 1 even, best written stories ever, it's on another "Plane" of story-design, It's not "perfect" by any means, but no work ever is, This is, however, the closest thing to "perfection" I ever witnessed to date, even decades after inital release! (I continually try to hunt stories as good as this one after all, and it honestly feels impossible) But you have to pull through the slow start to really grasp why, the "real deal" begins at 2nd half of Episode 2 15-25~ hours into the full game, once you get that far, if you wasn't already glad, you'll now be glad you didn't stop reading, there's no turning back now. I daresay Umineko is a lifechanging experience, it's a plot within a plot with an even deeper mystery & meaning than the murder itself, I can't describe it better without spoiling, you have to read it, It'll make you feel and experience so many emotions, It's deep and the characters are extremely well-designed, It's one of those cases where you really shouldn't judge it by it's cover cause it's hiding things you don't expect! trust me it's worth it! It really is a masterpiece, it's so good that no matter what the author try to write himsef, he to date fail surpassing his own work with his new works. TLDR; If you only get to read one thing before you die, at this point in time, it's this!


~ SCENARIO REVIEWS ~

*I loved Higurashi anime! or did you read it? anyways, you're in luck, if you liked Higurashi, this is gonna blow you mind, it's like that, but much, MUCH better, mindblowingly better (technically a sequel as well). Again, if you struggle pulling through the slow start, once you hit the 2nd half of Episode 2, you will not regret it, trust me.

*II played Danganronpa it's the best uwu! Seriously? pfft Danganronpa doesn't even compare to this LMAO, don't get me wrong I read all of Danganronpa myself, and it's teenage writing and plot compared to Umineko, it just, doesn't compare, and that's coming from someone who pulled through all of danganronpa, so chances are you'll like umineko many times more!

*I read Muv-Luv: Alternative, Fate Stay/Night top rated VN's on VNDB! how does Umineko compare? As someone who also read them! I'll tell you right now they are complete trash when compared to Umineko, Umineko really is on another level, you can't compare them, Muv-Luv Alternative/Fate are unworty of their vndb ratings ngl if umineko is 9.5/10, muv/fate is 6/10, period. I had to pull down my ratings on every VN I read cause of Umineko, If that tells you something.

*I read Saya no Uta, is this for me? Definitely, you're most likely gonna enjoy this even more! I myself read saya before this, and I love both. Umineko is very unique in it's own way just like Saya was! but with a much more in-depth plot and writing so have fun.

*I saw the Umineko Anime! I feel bad for you, it COMPLETELY butchers what Umineko actually is, even if you liked that pile of trash, it's still just 1/100th of the quality of what the VN is, you don't know what you're missing... save yourself from ruining Umineko by playing the VN instead, if you don't like VN's, then read the Manga but the VN is obviously recommended.


~ TLDR REVIEW ~

Story: 9.5/10 highest score I ever gave, will mess up your mind & feelers, really complex & thought provoking

Music: 9/10 honestly it got one of the best VN/Game OST's ever made to this date

Art: 5/10 It could be miles better, but the story is so good the art doesn't matter, there's patches though

Gameplay: -/10 It's a VN, Character Window is really cool though, visit it out frequently!
