for a mod this is a 10/10, i dont think i felt lost once playing through this, it looks fantastic (apart from some strange shadow behavior), the puzzles are pretty simple but fun, the story and progression is nice. there is some minor audio weirdness like some ambient noise disappearing on reload, or some select things being too loud, or the way echo is applied to voice, but these are very minor things that im sure will eventually be improved upon. i absolutely love how there are some stylistic elements from the first game that werent really present in the original portal 2, atmospherically this game is a masterpiece

the latest update that added coins made the game infinitely more enjoyable, before the game felt like a dice roll every time i shoot a ball, the coin system adds some level of control to your playstyle, so whenever i lose it doesnt feel like the game screwed me over with a dice roll. before this update every game left a bad taste in my mouth, it was fun enough but it always felt like something would cheat me out of a decent run. there's still a decent amount of chance and randomness left, but it feels much better now that you can steer that randomness in a more favorable direction

its just not worth it, it *looks* like a roguelite, but for a roguelite its pathetically shallow, which is a shame because the base mechanics are fun, it feels like the game was released about a year and a half too early. there is a grand total of 5 weapons in the game, and 5 "curses", there is no variety between runs, if you've cleared one path then you've already seen the whole game, it doesnt really add anything new along the way, there is not a shred of replay value. i must admit i expected this to be way more of a roguelite than some strange village simulator, but i feel like the game is not good at either of those 2 things anyway, taking care of your village is a chore to say the least, you cant just go out and play the actual game, you have to feed your followers (they will literally starve and die if you go out for too long), you have to literally clean their sh*t (why? also, there are at least 3 quests where you're asked to feed your followers literal sh*t, possibly more, i declined the second time it came up. why???), you have to repair their beds and so on, they are literally entirely helpless and they will not even rest to heal if they get sick without your intervention. if you want to play the game, you have to do your chores first, its like an overzealous mother designed this part, but also make sure not to play for too long because there's always more boring chores for you to do. you leveling up your character is not tied to progressing the actual game either, it feels like the game and the village management are somehow both an afterthought with a hope that together they form one cohesive thought. there are also some minor things that bother me that i guess i should mention here, there isnt a map button for some baffling reason, almost every action is a "hold this button down" action, so if you want to take devotion out of your statue, you have to stand there for 10 seconds waiting for it all to drain, many many things that have no business taking longer than a button click are made to take longer, this is a minor complaint of course but it gets very annoying very quickly
if you're looking for a roguelite/roguelike, this isnt it. this game has no variety or replay value at this point, hopefully this will change with some major updates
