20+ hours into the Kasane story line and THIS GAME IS AWESOME. It has that unique atmosphere that Persona brings to JRPGs mixed with DMC fighting mechanics tacking on SAS to make your combat even more fluid. On top of a dope sound track, I've been hooked since day 1. Has a good combat to story line/cutscene combination imo and whatever story line you choose, you get TWICE the content. Grinding for parts to synthesis doesn't feel like a grind, and the level up system lets you choose abilities that best fit your play style.

Only gripes about the game, there is a lot of apologizing and forgiving, but I look past it for all the game has to offer.
Also play on hard mode. It's way more satisfying to go through and progress on. The difficulty curve feels very smooth. Don't be intimidated. Hard mode is fun and can be challenging if you don't play certain fights correctly. (Kodama and Yuta are aids if you don't strategize at least a little bit)

Had this game on the PS1 and I loved every bit of it. The characters have a great dynamic. It keeps the 4 man party system used in original FFs. It has the right amount of humor, despair, story, and doesn't get you too off track with side quests. The game also implements optional skits you can watch to further get an understanding of each characters personality. For its time, this game has always been a masterpiece to me and always one of my all time favorite games. It has that Final Fantasy feel that you don't see much now in modern FF games. With the exception of Amarant, your party members all have a distinct personality and their reactions to each other feel very organic. The progress of the game is very smooth. I never had a dull moment playing this game and was fully invested in the story and its characters. The BGMs are catchy and fitting. Using chocobos is actually very useful, and the card game is pretty addicting (imo).
Overall, I love this game down to its very core, and I have to keep stopping myself from buying it on multiple consoles. It's an amazing game. I highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Final Fantasy or turn based RPGs.
