Galactic Thunderdome (or GTD for short) is a multiplayer party brawler with an emphasis on physics based combat.
Think sort of "TowerFall" meets "Worms" with a dash of ragdoll physics.

Speaking of dash; players can dash, shield and use an ability unique to one of the 10 selectable characters (my personal favorite being Merling "Time Snap" AKA going back to where you were 5 secs ago).
Now of course there wouldn't be any combat done here without weapons and you got *plenty* of those to find.
Weapons are divided into melee and ranged types, and given there's more than 50 of them you're bound to find one you enjoy killing your opponents with, be it a flamethrower or a beehive on a stick.
There's a lot of stages to duke it out on, with lots of enviromental hazards to spice things up like spikes, deathly fans or my fave the spinning ball of doom in the circular closed stage.
There's also some extra game modes besides Deathmatch like Treasure hunt (aka capture the flag), Last Stand (holding out against waves of enemies on co-op), and also a single player Gauntlet (big sprawling levels with different challenges to overcome).
While it's true that GTD can be played single player, IMO the real meat of the game is playing with a couple of friends much like you'd with other party games.
Mechanics are easy to grasp and it won't take long 'til players start pulling up plays like shielding slo-mo headshots or freezing themselves to crush their enemies.

So if you're like me and you enjoy party brawlers with the lads, you can't go wrong here.
