This game is not optimised in the slightest. There is a clear reliance on FSR to get FPS but even then it is not stable with many abilities halving fps. For reference i have a 5800X3D, 6800XT and 32GB of ram and without FSR enabled I dont get over 100fps. Ridiculous!!!
As for the game play, it is fun game but the slow projectiles and inconsistent melee hit boxes are frustrating. Most of the characters with ranged attacks use projectiles that are SLOW! I'm guessing this was a game design choice to make them more balanced with the melee characters so you couldn't delete them before they could close in. But as a result you can't get consistent damage off with ranged characters since so many shots miss due to needing to lead so much at any range but close.
However, playing melee characters sees you have to deal with the hitboxes in this game which make no sense. What you see on screen does not represent the arc of your melee attack, so you see your weapon pass through the enemy but you deal no damage which is frustrating.
So regardless of if you use ranged or melee, be prepared to see 50%+ shots and attacks miss because the game is designed that way.

Great racing game but has penalty system worse than GT Sport and F1 2018 that, and online drivers play it more like a destruction derby than an actual race.

The game has lots of cars to choose from with varying degrees of success recreating the driving physics, plenty of tracks, a good career mode to keep you busy and the online is active even if most of the lobbies are GT3 most of the time. But all of that is hampered by a giant black cloud hanging over the game, the penalty system. You get warnings constantly in this game the moment 4 wheels go beyond the white lines, even if it's for a fraction of a second, even if it costs you time even if you were trying to avoid an incident you will get a warning telling you to slow down and with no indication of how much you have to slow down by. You could lift and coast down an entire straight losing several seconds and it will stay and then give you a time penalty for all your troubles and that is just one of the ways the penalty system will frustrate you.

The game is also littered with bugs like setups not being saved and applied to cars, trackside replay cameras not working in VR and cars not showing up on screen even though they are in the lobby. All of these bugs are known about and posted on forums across the web for the devs to work on but the game hasn't received any major updates since the launch of the Spirit of Lemans DLC back in June. And even then these bugs weren't addressed.

If your planning on looking for a single player racer which is pretty easy to just jump in and race then I can recommend this, just make sure you turn off the penalty system. But if your planning on doing alot of online racing and you want it to be clean and competitive look elsewhere because you won't find it here.

Early Access Review
It's a team based shooter that has no in game voice chat and team mates that don't play as a team, prepare to be frustrated. Each new patch rather than address these issues the game seems more focused on realeasing new characters, skins and skins chests for you to spend your money on. As the game is right now I would not recommend getting it unless your going to be playing with a group of friends on teamspeak or some other 3rd party communication program because best of luck to you trying to find competent team mates randomly and coming up with on the fly plans using the quick chat commands.
