(Repost from my reply to a guy). I personally recommend the game. Yes, it has its problem, eg.
-somewhat out-dated graphic (hey, it has been 3 years),
-not the best translation (But it's totally readable and understandable. Definitely not machine translated),
-the somewhat questionable fighting system,
-the beginning is kinda slow (in comparison most western games),
-too many cut-scenes (I personally don't mind that though) etc.

But two things which outweigh almost all the negative things for me are the story and the characters.

There are some real and emotional character growths in this game (I tried my best not to spoil but still giving you the general description of their growths):
an introvert, who never step in the outside world, start to open himself up to his companions;
a cold-hearted celestial being finally understands emotions of mortals;
a seemed-like narcissistic guy is just trying to improve his country;
a priestess, who is both cursed and blessed, comes into term with her destiny.

Oh, and the romance is great. Even the characters in the game ship the pairs hard. This is one of the few games I cheered so hard when 2 characters hold hands and half-dead when they finally kiss. I wish more games should build up the relationship instead of just "Ooh sexy lady = insta love interest".

I would say this game has a fantasy like a world yet with realistic character development. Chinese Paladin 6 is another game I recommend if you like this one aka. another story-heavy game like this one (~25 hours with side stuff).

Even if you still not convinced, you can just buy it to show SoftStar that the English community is living. Softstar is developing Xuan Yuan Sword 7. So if they saw a huge English interest in this game, there might be a chance they will translate that game in the future too. But please this game a try.
