This game isnt pay to win. I didnt spend a penny and I average 60-70% winrate on all of the characters which is insane.
I've played this game ever since it first came out in Korea (good ole FS1 days) and I can tell you for sure it's all about TEAMWORK.
This game isn't enjoyable if you are playing by yourself because you will meet players who just don't get the game. So a rule of thumb is if you like whoever you played with, just add him/her so you can play together next time.

Few additional helpful tips are (in-game):
1. Always look to pass
2. Don't go for block everytime the opponent does a pumpfake
3. Know your strength and abuse it

So many positive things about this game including free Russian and Spanish tutelage among other features.
I consider myself half Russian and half Latino now because I spent so much time on this game.
Not good for anger management though.
