XERA has been a blast throughout the Alphas! I love this style of game and the genre as a whole has been stagnant for quite a while. XERA is filling that gap! The developer listens to the community and the feedback and is fast to combat any issues. You can tell that this game was made by a gamer, and has a lot of effort and love put into it. The game is simple, fast paced PVP, open world survival. Loot up and go hunt other players. - This game is doing what War Z did for me years ago. I loved War Z, XERA is better, and polished, and is not done being developed! Only the beginning of something great in my opinion. Worth a check if you enjoy PVP, Looter Shooters.

Love Total War games, love this game. It is bare bones compared to other TW games, but it is fun nonetheless.

Favorite time period. Waiting on some good mods! Game of Thrones mod? Anyway, great game.

!! Here is a review in progress !!

I am considering this game as "unfinished" There is nothing that sets this game apart from Early Access games. Yes the game is gorgeous and did obviously take a lot of time and manpower to create. But for the size of this game, and the amount of content it has to offer, and the amount of time it takes to soak up all that content. I can safely call this game unfinished.

Do I recommend this game? Yes (To MMORPG patrons, gamers who play WoW, Diablo 3, etc.)

The lack of content and endgame is made up for by the grind. If you are not interested in playing games like Diablo 3, World of Warcraft, Path Of Exile, then do not play The Division. Period. This game is a third person version of the games mentioned. It is a loot based MMORPG. You will level your character, soak up all the story and lore, grind until you are ready to enter what is called the Dark Zone. This is The Divisions version of an endgame. At the moment the PVP in The Divsion is very unforgiving. If you die whether fighting other players, or dying by NPC's, you will lose XP (Dark Zone XP), DZ Cash
(Dark Zone Currency), and most likely de-rank depending on how much XP you end up losing. The PVP in this game has potential but it has yet to be tapped.

In the end once you have leveled your main character to level 30, and you have gotten the substantial amount of gear that satisfies your expectations. Then the game has nothing more to offer. You can collect all the hidden phones, find all the drone crashes, unclock all the special jackets, finish every side mission in the game. Get your character maxed in the DZ. The only thing that will keep you playing is the gear grind. In order to get the best gear you have to grind, grind mobs for Phoenix Coins, which then allow you to buy blueprints from a vendor and allow you to craft those special items. But the odds of you rolling the perfect piece of gear are slim, so you have to keep grinding in order to recieve the amount of materials you need to craft more of that special gear.

I cannot stress enough the similarities between this game and other games such as Diablo 3, Path of Exile, World of Warcraft, etc. A lot of people are upset that The Division is this way, and it is understandable, they expected a tactical third person shooter, but instead they got a generic MMORPG with all the same grindy components that keep us "MMO Addicts" awake at night. I have lost countless hours of sleep to this game and it is fun. Once the fun runs out and I have all my desired 'loot' I will have to wait for the "Expansion" or "DLC". Then this will bring more content and more 'loot' for me to grind out.

Do I recommend this game to the general gamer? No.

I recommend this game to MMO patrons who love to grind and gain statistics. Especially gamers who have enjoyed other MMO's similar to World of Warcraft, Diablo 3, etc.

This game is a gem. I had it in my library for almost a year before I launched it. And boy i'm glad I did. The art style is gritty and cute, the gameplay is impressive and immersive, the premise of the game is all about surviving in this harsh enviroment. There are so many elements to this game that is defiantly worth a buy for the price. It goes on sale often and is well worth the price paid.

[Final words in my last segment]

I have not played this game enough to give you a good review. From the time I have played it seems like a huge improvement from the development process and cash grab that Infestation Survivor Stories, formerly know as The War Z was.

If Aftermath succeeds with the PVP aspect of the game. I feel that it could be incredible. The whole skin and crate system is great. I wish this was in Infestation. I am going to put it out there and say out of all the zombie games I have played, Aftermath has the worst zombies. I'm not saying the AI is not better than some games.. *cough* H1Z1.. but they just seem so.. boring. I love the idea of missions and clearing towns and what not. But it's no fun if the zombies suck and feel fake as sh!t. No offense to the game devs, but couldn't of you guys at least changed the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ character models? Haha.. Anyway.. Onwards.. The only thing I feel keeping a lot of dedicated Infestation players away, is the animation of the player character. I'm assuming this will be fixed. It feels super janky, and uncomfortable to play with. The running animation kills it for me.

At the end of the day, what makes a survival game great for me, is the PVP with a blend of quirky encounters with random players. With Infestation it was like this in the first month, but after that it went and turned into a straight deathmatch. If Aftermath's dev team can get the right mix between the two they will make a great contender to all the other survival games on the market.

[ My backstory with WarZ ] If you are reading this and thinking.. this guy barely played Infestation... consider the fact that I have almost 1500 hours on steam. Remember that War Z was not even released on steam until a few months after it's alpha release. I played War Z since day 4 of it's initial alpha release. You are going laugh at me when I tell you I had never played PC games until War Z. I was obsessed with DayZ Mod videos before I came across War Z's trailer by "MrJoeTrocious" on youtube. That video is what made me go out and by a $700 HP desktop so I could play The War Z. I loved it till around the time DayZ Standalone released. Then it was a back and forth battle. I eventually stopped playing the game and moved onto trying other games like WoW and more ARMA mods. Nothing has hooked me like Infestation hooked me. When all of the emulators came out and Thai ISS I just could not bring myself to play them. All I wanted was the original game. For some reason it felt like cheating on my girlfriend or something.

I recommend Aftermath on the pure fact that it is free and has the potential to be the true successor to War Z. I have noticed a lot of the aftermath community is fresh to this game and I appreciate that. I just hope the developers can make the game great and create the community that I was once a part of. Bring back the fun and addiction that was once called The War Z... It's a new game, but it will always be "The Second Chance" game that it is today. If you guys do it right this time around you earn the right to be called a good game development team. Goodluck, Goodnight, and Have Fun. DustyZ out...

PS, I imagine this review may have not helped anyone, but I felt I had to give my insight as one of the players who was most invested in the previous game. I will not down vote a game just because it's past was sh!tty. I have it in my library and will chime in from time to time. If the game becomes what I, as a player enjoy playing, then I will invest my time into it. As would anyone who enjoys any game. Give it a chance, it's free, you're not paying for anything. If you don't enjoy, leave it alone, come back in a few months and maybe it will be better. If not, don't play. My recommendation is if you enjoy it, enjoy it as much as you can because you never know when the enjoyment won't be there any longer.

I love this game. I get to build and manage. Hehehe. If you played rollercoaster tycoon or simcity you know what I mean. It's addicting. Oh and there's mods! Get this game if you like city builders.

I have never screamed at my computer so much in my life until I played Deadlight. I mean... what can I say. It's fun. But if you get stuck, you're screwed. Goodluck, have fun. Oh and the story is freaking amazing.
