I was there the day the Kickstarter went live, and gladly handed Koji Igarashi my hard earned money to bring Ritual of the Night to life. As time went on and feedback was given, the game was eventually released and -I might sound a little bias about this- Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night stands on it's own as an excellent successor to the Castlevania series. The man who transitioned Castlevania from a linear action game to an exploratory action game (with RPG elements) managed to do what KONAMI seemed to be unwilling to do, make an actually fun video game. Although some fanboys are upset by the choice to use Unreal Engine 3 to make the game instead of making it look more like a current IntiCreates game, I applaud the decision to go with modern graphics even if they look a little dated. I may have found a few bugs still lingering, but that might just be my PC; which runs amazingly well for a game that was on PS4. With a sequel on the way, now's the best time to play this great video game!

DuckTales Remastered is an amazing video game that is practically a remake of the original NES game. Developed by the fine people at WayForward Technologies, they have made several Quality of Life improvements that make it more fun and accessible. The greatest achievement it has accomplished is reuniting most of the cast; including Alan Young (Scrooge McDuck) and June Foray (Magica De Spell). With these being their final performances, it truly is a treat for fans of the 1987 Duck Tales series!

Not many games can go viral to the point of merchandising. What seems to start out as a joke game, turns out to be an amusing and challenging puzzle game. I was going to pass up on the game, but it became inescapable once the Internet heard about it. I honestly can't complain since the game was free, which is pretty sweet. The real challenge starts when you begin the DLC!

The Steam and Xbox 360 versions of Sonic CD were absolutely one of the best things to happen to the game in 15 years. The unfortunate truth is that it has been delisted from all platforms as per SEGA's mandate to keep selling people the first 5 Sonic games forever (see Sonic Origins). Either way, despite some removed copyrighted lyrics from the music almost everything is intact and playable. If you bought it before SEGA took it away from us, good for you! I'll give Sonic Origins a try since I heard Tyson Hesse put some work into it.

If you already read Visual Novels, how have you not heard of this one? MUV-LUV was practically the breakthrough visual novel. The first part is a regular High School dating sim type VN with the most bizarre school uniforms ever, then the second part becomes a sci-fi military drama Isekai with giant robot mechs. Nothing really gets an explanation until the next one.

Crystar isn't the best game around, but I have to hand it to Gem Drops Game Studio for giving me something that got me emotional at times. It is too much of a grind and it is bizarre to see multiple endings for a linear game, but I believe that success can eventually come from failure. After all, Spike Chunsoft and FuRyu believed in this project as much as myself. I did genuinely have fun with it, despite all of it's flaws, so here's hoping for success in their next game. I'll check out Cogen: Sword of Rewind next.

Haydee is an outright mean game that hates you, the player.
I don't know what sadistic internet troll developed this game, but it's very obvious they want you to have an aneurysm. I spent almost an hour trying to get one specific item needed to progress and I kept dying, so much so that the game gave me an achievement called "Moron" as if to add insult to injury. With only over an hour worth of play time, I've decided it's not worth the headache from this garbage. I'm going to go play an actual game that's worth my time.

Best Sonic game ever! Fun levels, great music, and bonus cool animation by one of Sonic's biggest fans; Tyson Hesse! Now to follow up, my opinion of SEGA concerning Sonic Mania.
It's a shame SEGA had to be so arrogant that they had the nerve to release Sonic Forces alongside it. Completely undermining what the team did and firing them is a bad look for SEGA and reflects poorly on the brand. This was the first Sonic game I legitimately had fun with in 15 years and Sonic Team still believes that 3D Sonic games are worth taking the poor reviews. At some point you have to cut off the s*** snake at the s*** head.

Yet another outstanding visual novel from Chiyomaru Shikura! It took me completely by surprise that this one uses 3D models instead of slightly animated JPEGs. It certainly was full of more laughs so this might be the more lighthearted of the Science Adventure series. Trust me, it's well worth your money.
