I can recommend this game, but for all the wrong reasons. The game trailer we got really did capture the essence of the game.
It's a good game to say goodbye to Dragon Age and, IMO, to BioWare as well.
As everyone is pointing out, it's an alright game but not a Dragon Age game, which, in my case, left me heartbroken.
It's a return, but whether it's a return to form is highly debatable.

The dialogue leaves much to be desired, sometimes misleading you about what you're actually going to say, and most of the time it's just cringe, annoying, and immersion-breaking.
Most of the time, it left me feeling like a child/teen or as if I were watching someone else who is one.

The voice actors did a decent job, but sometimes when speaking Elven or Qunari languages, it sounds like they're about to add "partner" at the end of their sentences. I might just be nitpicking here, though.

The visuals, IMO, are amazing. The artistic choices for the characters are questionable, but over time, you get used to them and notice them less.
But what's with the goofy aaaah design on the darkspawn???

Some of the companions can be lovable and interesting, but others stick out like a sore thumb. Bellara felt like she was ripped straight out of Hogwarts, and don't even get me started on Taash and the other Oggy and the Cockroaches...

I could rant more about the game itself, the character creator, or how much I love the franchise, but what's the point?
In my opinion, the game is carried by its visuals and its title. Were the visuals not as good and the title not Dragon Age...
