I have played half of this game on the PS4 and watched the other half as a backseat gamer so take this review lightly compared to others.

I bought this game on the PC for one reason, joystick. There are only 5-6 joysticks supported which are out of stock and go on sale for £80+ -_-
I only recently bought logitech extreme 3d pro, a relatively cheaper option for joysticks so I was thrilled to play this game, sadly DO NOT BUY LOGITECH EXTREME 3D PRO FOR THIS GAME!

For last 2 days I have been trying to configure this joystick and game to work for hours and hours and still no luck...

1) Use setup.ini file to configure.
Head to this Steam thread and follow instructions- https://steamproxy.net/app/502500/discussions/0/1754646027384418458/
DID NOT WORK FOR ME

2) Use Steam big picture mode to configure joystick as an xbox controller.
Head over here and follow instructions- https://www.pcinvasion.com/ace-combat-7-hotas-support/

DID WORK FOR ME! The issue was controls, it felts 'unnatural' to a point it even became fustrating within 20-30 mins

3) Use X360ce to configure (this is where I spent the most time).
Sadly I tried every type of hook combinations, every profiles from the internet, every little settings within this software and still it did NOT work for me even after 9-10 hours of configuring and searching every little thread on every single forums online.

This is sad, a game like this, which has budget of millions of dollars refuses to support most joysticks or even the more popular joysticks.

If you have a 4k monitor like I did (another reason I wanted this on PC), well you have no 4K option. To get around this, switch to windowed mode, then to borderless and here select the resolution you want to play in, then select fullscreen and it will be 3840x2160 now.

This game has no UI mouse support! wtf -_-

If you say "oh I dont have a 4k monitor or a joystick since I am going to use a controller therefore your opinion is invalid!" in that case hats off to you. Reviews are nothing but opinions of individuals and in my opinion it is unacceptable for game to have garbage multiplayer, garbage input support, garbage graphic options and garbage update (seriously they have no plans to fix this broken mess).

As for the game I played on the PS4, I enjoyed it there but I just cannot recommend on the PC due to many issues I faced surrounding it.

OK I have played medieval 2 in the past, then Shogun 2, Rome 2, and had a try on other non fantasy total war games.

Shogun 2 is the obvious comparison to Three Kingdoms, both eastern and Shogun 2 was the last good non fantasy Total War game IN MY OPINION (Rome 2 wasnt than great and you know it). I played Cao Cao's faction.

- Highlighting the units is the biggest pain in the ass
- The fight choreography of the units are somehow worse the Shogun 2
- The graphics on my 4K monitor are somehow inferior to Shogun 2. This game think increasing saturation = better graphics, but when you compare the water graphics to Rome 2 or Shogun 2, the textures (especially rock textures) on high setting look OKish for a 2019 Total War game, it seems I had a larger expectation set on this aspect.
- The generals getting along or not system is stupid.
- The units in the game get boring in the second half of the game
- The camera in this game feels restrictive compared to Shogun 2
- Rice fields is my person most memorable map in Shogun 2, can you name a memorable map in Three Kingdoms? I cant since they all look the same.
- I personally hated the siege system in post shogun 2 games and consider them to be place units in front of the gates and put it on fast forward.
- Get in the forest and you have 70% ambush chance, get in the open fields and you have 100% ambush chance -_-
- The cavalry feels slow
- Multiplayer is DEAD!
- I enjoyed Rome 2's politic system especially with Rome's faction but there is none of that in this game, no internal politics, just generals not getting along.
- Missing naval battles
- They should replace the skills tree unlocking every set amount of turns to skills unlocking once you capture a settlement, it makes much more sense, on that note the settlements lack variety.

EDIT 29/05/2020
- Generals can hire better units as they level up is also annoying

I felt more frustrated playing this game than entertained for the majority of this game. While there I have only mentioned negatives (kind of like in life you remember the rules you've broken or wrong things comes first as opposed to all the rules you followed and positive things) this game in my opinion is just 'average', yes in the age of "IF its not 9+/10 then its ♥♥♥♥", I give this game 5.5/10, average != bad, nothing truly stands out but nothing truly is 'game breaking' just many small negatives adding up.

This game is for die hard TW fans and not for first entry into the series, go play Shogun 2 for that.

Easiest screenshoting tool ever!

Migrated from Gyazo and functionalities which Gyazo makes you pay for are included for free in ShareX, ShareX also has more advance features and automatic upload to Imgur is much more accessible and use-able than Gyazo's website hosting.

Game of the Decade! I love the deep philosophical message about everything wrong with our society to a point even Socrates or Plato will decipher the meanings for next hundred years!

Just finished the Netflix's The Witcher and now just finished the game.

How did i play the game? I modded it. I used Rise of the White Wolf mod, Item stacking and equipment mod, faster movement mod, genie wish mod, plentiful herbs for TW1 mod and Han gives han not berbcane mod. You can get these mods from nexus mods.

Rise of the white wolf creates a new icon on the desktop, I used that to play the game hence why I have 0.1 hours in the game (because I was using the mod's shortcut which I added to steam as 'non steam game' so I can use my steam controller configuration. Time spent roughly 20-30ish hours (just watched the ending cutscene)

Story (7/10)

Yh Spoilers below, story is pretty much the only reason you should play this game so stop reading now.

I liked the story. Initially I was confused as to why a in-keeper in Vizima tells story about Ciri and I was like "wheres Ciri?". Then I realized that Witcher games are NOT an adaptation of the novels, in fact the games are set AFTER the novels in there own (non canon to novels) storyline. This means you do NOT need to play the games in order to understand Netflix's Witcher series altough I found that the first 2-3 episode of Netflix's The Witcher were packed with things that gamers/novel readers may be more familiar with.

The game begins in Kaer Morhen (home of school of wolf witcher school), there the gang is throwing a party when suddenly they get attacked by a hipster (the professor) and a football hooligan (Azar Javed), these two manage to steal some witcher thing and escape and begins the story of the Witcher 1 of tracking these fools.

Now we go to outskirts of Vizima and see some little ♥♥♥♥ gets possessed and says something, then bunch of ghost dogs attack. After a while these villagers try mob lynching a woman and I killed that village head after a motivation speech.

After prison we meet Dandelion and he jokes something about Geralt having a dragon friend, but jokes on him since now I actually understood what he's on about after watching Netflix's Witcher series.

Something happens then I have to find this boat guy and go to Dagobah. Some Elves tell me to pick their side so I didnt pick their side. Anyway after a while I fight Javed and Professor.

Anyway back in Vizima, now remember that kid who gets possessed? Yh lets make him call Triss 'Mommy' and he calls me 'Daddy'.

Something happens in cave and then we get princess Adda. Yh this is the daughter of the king who was a striga. We get 2 version of Geralt beating her, one is the cutscene in this game and then another one in Netflix's Witcher series. We teleport after kissing princess Adda.

Theres this creepy annoying girl, then we find Berengar and then he just goes away.

Vizima is now on fire. Adda becomes a Striga again. Salamndra has been carrying out Amazon's The Boys's storyline (yes put me on r/iamveryrandom if you never watched The Boys).

We go on a castle tour then the Ice Planet. The wild hunt comes asking me for a fight then I beat his ass, now he knows not to mess with witchers.

We pick up money from the king and theres an amazing cutscene.

Gameplay (2/10, 4/10 with mods I stated above)
Its trash. Yes I know it was made on low budget.Hopefully theres a remake.

Soundtrack (7/10)
Its good

Overall - 6/10, needs a remake

Frequent Questions
"Do I need to play games for Netflix's The Witcher Series?" - No
"Do I play with mods or without mods?" - Your choice

Now its time to play Witcher 2
