The Falkland war was a war between Argentina and the UK over the islands known as the falklands, the falklands had a long history all the way back to the colonial era where they were fought over between Spain, France, and Britain, when Argentina was independant, they were granted ownership at one point, they the UK took it. In 1982, the Argentinians launched a naval invasion during an undeclared war and forcefully took the islands, gaining an easy victory, but the war was not over, the UK sent most of their navy and airforce to the location and managed to gain air superiority and naval supremacy, once they landed, they were greatly outnumbered, but they had significantly better trained troops, quickly managing to take out the bulk of untrained Argentinians, granting them a swift victory and reclamation of the islands.
