i played this game for 18 minutes on ultrawide FOV on a 34 inch ultrawide before i felt too nauseous to continue playing. in that time, i didn't really find anything interesting to do and probably won't open the game again to keep looking. as a side note, i've never been motion sick from amusement rides, boat rides, car trips, plane trips, any other video games, etc. so the mind-bending is pretty insane in this game, play at your own risk.

amazing software for your desktop, backed by an immense community. you can find almost anything you're looking for by searching on the steam workshop.

As much as I want to love this game, it's just not worth trying to play it.. yet.

From nonstop controller setup issues and random unexpected crashes, to infinite loading screens in online play and incompatibility with steam overlay (that causes mouse function to stop working completely in the middle of a mission), it is clear that this game was NOT ready for a PC release. On top of all of that, the optimization is utterly horrible. I have a GTX 980 Ti and a Ryzen 5 2600X, and I can barely hold 60 frames in 1080p with nearly everything on low. I have a 2560x1440 monitor so playing at 1080p is too grainy/low for me and I actually prefer to play at 2560x1440 w/ an avg of 45 fps and nearly every setting on low except ultra textures. Lastly, I don't know if it's unstable NVIDIA drivers, or the game itself, but without fail, everytime I start the game, particles end up with missing textures, replaced by bright RGB colors like shown in this article. The most redeeming quality is that autosave seems to do a pretty decent job at recovery when unexpected crashes occur in singleplayer... so there's that.

Now don't get me wrong, I LOVED Red Dead Redemption on Xbox 360, but maybe give Rockstar a few months to figure out how they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up so badly with this PC port before buying it, might even get a nice sale price too in a few months..

Of course, when the game is working as intended, it's a lot of fun, which is why it's so frustrating to be interrupted by one glitch or another.

It's like Black Desert Online, if BDO was free, and designed with a strictly <12 year old playerbase in mind.
It will definitely keep you entertained for the weekend, but I wouldn't expect more than that.

In addition, the game is missing many features that would just make it more playable;
• a minimap
• search function (for your own items/loot collector)
• organization functionality (for determining which of your items has the most valuable stats)
