Months after release, they have made it so you need to create and link a PSN account to play.

♥♥♥♥ off with this.

The most useful thing about this DLC is the navy upgrades and the templating for armies and navies. Unfortunately you only get half the feature, because the Conform To Template button doesn't work, for armies or navies, unless you also have Cradle of Civilization.

Sketchy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Requires you to sign up with an email address and put your name in, pages load in Chinese and then change to English, and a friend couldn't play because he was banned as soon as he signed up.

This is a beautiful game and keeps everything that was good about the first reboot going: strong story, great environments, meaningful progression, near-flawless gameplay. Unfortunately, it also suffers from the same problems.

Puzzle-solving is largely relegated to the small optional tombs, harming the authenticity of the Tomb Raider experience for those who played the originals, where puzzles could span entire levels. The game incentivises you to pick up all manner of collectibles and provides a skill where you can reveal nearby collectibles with a click of the right-stick, which also highlights interactable scenery and objects, but when you're in front of a puzzle, clicking the right-stick also has Lara say what you should do next to solve the puzzle! There is no way to turn this off, so your attempt to simply read the environment while figuring the puzzle out for yourself results in having the puzzle partially spoiled for you.

A great game but if you played the originals and found the first reboot wanting in its authenticity, you may have a similar experience here.

The game has a good story and decent game mechanics, but it isn't very Tomb Raider. You do very little of what you would identify from the original games and there's very little problem- and puzzle-solving. What puzzle-solving there is is very localised and not particularly satisfying. This is quite disappointing when compared to some of the level-scale puzzles from the Tomb Raider games on the PSX. It feels more like a very high-quality Uncharted game than a Tomb Raider game.

It also makes use of QTEs, which were about ten years past their use-by date as a game mechanic, when this game was released. Pulling me out of the World, to let me know I'm playing a video game and should now repeatedly smash X, or jiggle the left stick from side to side, or wait for a circle to hit another circle, so I can press Y at the right time, isn't a welcome part of the experience and never has been.

I would pick it up on sale if it dips below £10. I did that and I feel like I got a good deal.

The review will remain negative until FDev commit to VR support for Odyssey.

A very cool idea, quite well executed.

Spoiler-free tips: don't get frustrated, the information you need is there; pay attention to everything; some scenes have details you might miss (seem mundane or are away from the action).
