First game I ever had on my computer 25 years ago and its still getting big updates and expansions. I've only been playing AI skirmishes, but there's a ton of campaigns and a healthy online scene with mod support too.

There are some flaws and annoying things about this game but its free and the chaos is incomparable. Cashout/World Tour is such a clever game mode, combining capture the flag and king of the hill with 4 teams and simultaneous objectives. But what really makes it stand out is the build variety and destruction.

There's an endless amount of ways you can strategize your assault, and if you do survive taking the objective then you must defend it from all directions - you never know if a heavy is going to come charging through the wall or if a medium is going to dematerialize the floor beneath you.

The gunplay is also very solid. The pistols, shotguns, and assault rifles all feel great to me. As a Mount and Blade/Mordhau vet the melee weapons feel surprisingly nice and its equally novel how effective they are without being too overpowered. To me though the hidden gem is the bow. I'm a sucker for archery in video games and it can be tricky to make them feel great in execution but the bow in The Finals is a bonafide dopamine machine.

Another game mechanic that is very important to me is movement. I feel like the best games let you express yourself, this game has that covered already with the build variety but more importantly there is a very high ceiling for schmovement in the Finals. You keep your inertia when sliding and jumping and they give you portable jumpads/ziplines/grappling hooks in a VERY 3D map to let you zoom around to your hearts desire. It all comes together when the building your in collapses midfight and gravity lets you slide down the wall and launch yourself three blocks across town - demateralizing a wall in midair to end up in a completely different fight going on. When the smoke clears and you do the math you realize that was the exact scenario you needed to get enough cash to win the round in time, it's magic.

But also this game is utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sometimes.

This game had so much potential, just like the first one. It's much prettier than the original but retains none of the magic and somehow has less features despite coming out 10 years later. If they do something similar to Dark Arisen for the DLC and fleshing out some the classes more it could be a really fun game but in its current state I would say to avoid it.

This is the worst gaming experience I've ever had in my entire life and I hope whoever designed this questline was promptly fired and blacklisted from any and all industries except shoveling manure for the rest of eternity.

the movement is insane, the art design is beautiful, the sound is top notch. you open the game and press continue and youre playing the game, which means either being in menus or actively doing missions. Its just genuine. I might be biased because Im a big fromsoft fan but I also feel like that gives me bigger expectations and they did a really good job with this game.

I wish there was a difficulty that was challenging without the computer cheating. Semi Pro is wayyy too easy and everything above feels really poorly balanced. Also FUT is cool but gambling and RWT is disgusting

this game is the best game. I should know, I've played all the games.
