Its fun with friends but bots cheat (all games deviate from the probability distribution) Devs won't xpand the board and the game is missing a lot of functionality.

Banished is a wonderful sim and is mechanically very similar to the economical aspect of the medieval sim Stronghold but without the currency aspectt. If you like a challenging game where you need to plan for the long-term to avoid failiure then you will enjoy this game.

The game is very beginner friendly and intuitive. It has a great turorial and a very good Wiki [banished-wiki.com] which contains all the necessary information.

The gameplay is diverse, the difficulty is scalable to reflect the player's playstyle. The game can be simpe without the need to worry too much for the villagers but it can also be punishingly hard with harsh winters and the threat of natural disasters.

The game is challenging at all stages. From having to keep your villagers from starving and freezing to having to account for several hundred villagers and their needs. However, since the game doesnt have a currency aspect you will have to trade wares to thrive and in it's current state most of the trades are favourable which removes some of the complexity of trading.

The game has full workshop support which gives you the oppertunity to continually add content as you like. The game also seems to gradually get new content and features

So, is this game worth it's price?
-Yes
Is this game for everyone?
-Is any game?
Do you reccomend the game?

I played the first CoH when it came out and had a blast with it. It was unique in being extremely immersive and intuitive. This sequel however, is not good.

The AI of the units will make you scream out of frustration, the pathing and attack prioriies are messed up and illogical.

The first game had an intuitive, easy to understand and logical UI (User interface) This game's UI is difficult to use, cluttered and ugly.

In the first game, both factions (Allies or Axis) had three command trees each. Theese trees allowed players to spend points rewarded during the course op battle to provide various bonuses. Theese bonuses ranged from artillery bombardment to airstrikes to being able to deploy elite units. This game continues on that trend but fails in doing so: the system is now rigid and you as a player has no choice in which "power" to invest in. The player now unlocks elements in a predetermined progression system. This reduces the element of choice for the player who can no longer dynamically change the strategy used.

This game has a feeling to it that it has purposefully left out content which would be added with DLC. This is something that makes an enthusiast cringe.

Do not buy this game, not even on sale.
