At the time of writing this, CS is in a rough spot. Rampant cheaters every other game, no new content, unbalanced elo loss and gain in premier, peeker's advantage, incorrect bullet registration related to ping differences, the list goes on.

However, my love for this game never seems to fade. As tilted I am feeling hopeless playing with a cheater, or demotivated because open queue teammates have no mics or are toxic for no reason, that's the state of the game and I have to live with that. I hope Valve is cooking something up with new changes and bringing back Train and perhaps creating other maps for us to enjoy. CS has always been a great tactical shooter game with a need for precision, proper timing, and strategy to be good at.

Back to the actual review, this is the game to play if you want to get into FPS games. It teaches you to control your recoil, and unlike many other FPS games such as COD and Apex, the less you move the better you shoot. That does not mean movement is unimportant in this game. I will argue is even more important.

This game will push you to your mental capabilities and technical skills, and you will be rewarded when you win rounds no one thought you could. Even in this state the game is currently in, I will still 100% recommend it for anyone.

Edit (Feb 10, 2024): Valve released the first major update in CS2, and I must say it's in the right step forward. Reducing peaker's advantage, bringing new mechanics in the game such as smokes on shadow (even though it is quite buggy right now), and movable stickers and changes to the Zeus, are all changes that I see as for the better. If Valve continues to cook I believe we will be served a great version of CS.
