Missing a lot of the strong features from previous games, such as C4 or an additional weapons slot. The only reason this title has made it to a fourth game is mostly because they prioritize destruction. JC4 seems to take a turn, however, where destruction is hardly encouraged beyond generating enough volunteers to take control of provinces within the map. The storyline feels rushed, and the transitions between in unplayable-but-in-game and also animated storyline portions make it feel like the devs were desperate to just launch the game. Not only are these storyline portions not good or really engaging, they aren't skippable. I was unimpressed pretty much the entire time I played through the game.

I'd argue this is the worst Civ to come out yet

Very good game. People highly under-rate this game, considering it's being programmed by a very small and dedicated team.

Update: I wrote the above review like 4 years ago. As of today, Beta was released. With Beta came nothing good, however. The game has lost its out of the box feel. We're playing the same game, except now my PC can actually run it. The new features added with the update take away from what the game used to feel like, and something just feels off now. The map is still too massive, but cars don't ever spawn. The stamina bar is a great idea, but it's been implemented in the entirely wrong way. The actual game sounds are bad now. Really bad. Like, absolute trash. Enough for me to not even play the update because of the new sounds. The third person camera has just been turned into rubbish by the Beta update. Nothing feels right, but the game still plays the way it used to: now it just takes five times longer to get places. If you're an old player of this game and want to come back to try Beta, don't. It isn't worth your time. It's taken the devs years to implement this trash. Keep DayZ the way it is to you now; a game filled with great memories and hours of your life invested.

It just makes me sad to see what the game has turned into.
