As good as I remember when it launched on PS2. Highly recommend.

HLD drinks deeply from Dark Souls "Tough But Fair" mug in a gorgeous and colourful post-apocalyptic sci-fantasy world. The game and story are wordless and reward your attention and exploration.

It is difficult, but every difficult situation has at least one "right" solution and a few less optimal ones. However, a generous (aside from a few minor, but very counter intuitive instances) checkpoint and fast travel system allow you an easy out from any troublesome area with a minimum, if any, lost progress.

The only warning I'll give in regards to approaching this game is to go north. For the love of ♥♥♥♥, do the north hub of the game world first. It is, by far, the most forgiving and can be easily (in the context of this game) completed with no upgrades/progression.

I give it 4.5 honorary sunbros out of 5.

DayZ SA Death Log

Death #1: Dying of thirst. Tried drinking alcohol tincture. Died of vomiting.
Death #2: Dying of thirst. Friendly guy led me to watering hole. Killed me while I drank.
Death #3: Killed by zombie on the outskirts of Cherno. Wrenches should be better than punching.
Death #4: Explored Elktro, empty of everything except for a wrench and a battery. Killed by incompetent (three shots from 50M) sniper on rooftop.

Summer Gaming Project Review:

I wanted this to be better than Frequency or Amplitude, but I was sorely disappointed. It's okay. it feels more like a really beefed up flash game.

Like ARMA II, ARMA II: OA is primarily a vessle for Dayz. However, I enjoyed mucking around with the mission editor quite a bit.

For me, ARMA II is primarily a vessle for Dayz. I lack the focus to enjoy the organized super duper hardcore mil sim stuff that seems to dominate online play of this series. However, single player missions can be super fun, if a bit derpy.

This could be a faster and crisper version of Geometry Wars. Instead it is a twin stick shooter with totally broken controls. The developer is apparently working on a patch, but it's been a freaking year.
