I cant recomend it, the game is heavy on pay to win.

This is entirely for PvE, i have no idea of PvP. I haved played the game years ago and from what i see not much changed...

Up to level 50 or so, you can perfectly play "free" kind of...

I'm going to start with the pros list (A short one)

* Expansion are free, unlike Pay to play or buy to play you get the expansions for free.
* Low hardware requierements.
* Daily log in rewards (about time)

Now the cons list (a long one)

* The most obvious, pay to win. Yes, you can play for free if you are willing to grind literally all day, and as far as i can tell you can no longer buy diamons in game with gold.
In order to upgrade your equipment you can buy different kind of items from the item shop, some items apply for equipment from level x to level y, they give you a garanteed successfull
upgrade up to certain level, after that the upgrade process can fail and worse can even make item level DROP!, yes, you read that right.

For example infinite star jewel works for weapons with a level of a least +20, so lets say you have a +20 weapon and buy 10 of this items, the first 3 are applied successfully, so you
have an item of +23, but then the next 4 fails, in the worst case (if it drops a level) you end with a +20 again... money wasted. You can get an Perfect Moon Jewel to increase an item
up to +6 without risking anything, after that its a gamble! Imagine how much you need to buy to get over 20. Not to mention that to add runes into items you also need to buy items from
the item shop.

Oh and for upgrading equipment you will also need purified fusion stones, i dont remember how the process works exactly so i wont talk much about it... but guess where you get them?

* Debt, In RoM when you die you get a penalty, called debt, when you kill mobs you get XP, however if you have debt some of that XP, either from killing mobs or completing quests goes
to clearning the debt, at lowers levels is not much, however, at +50 you will be cursing at the monitor. Of course, you can buy items from the item shop to magically clear the debt!

* Moving around the world is painful, moving by "foot" its slow as hell and you will rather kill yourself than do that, of course there is a faster way, with mounts! and guess where you
get mounts? Yep, item shop! Yes, you can use Snoop (i think it was called) to move around, but you first have to discover the location and you have to pay with ingame gold.

* Talent points resets, back in the day when i played, from time to time they decided it was time to reset the talent points (i dont know if they still do this), this means you have to
assign points to all your skills again and again, and if you screw up assigning talent points because a reset you never asked for, well, you can buy a skill reset stone from the
item shop!

* Pay for chatting!, Yes... if you want to talk in "World chat" you need to buy an item called "Megaphone" and you use one of them per message! no comments...

Some of this items can be adquired by just playing provided you have enough free time... and will to grind. Obviously the games does everything its possible to make you buy it from
the item shop.

This could all be solved by only selling comestic items, like many games do, however i think its a bit too late for that.... cause you need a big enough player base for that, and even
with the new steam release i havent seen many.... maybe its the server im on... i dont know...

* Dungeons, RoM uses the holy trinity model (Tank, DPS & Healer) if you miss one, it will be hard to complete a dungeon and if you dont have the proper equipment people will hate you
(with random people at least) if you have a helpful guild it might work out (very helpful guild). Not to mention that unless they changed it, equipment drop only goes to one of the
party (Yay! drama)

Im sorry but IMHO there are better games out there with far better monetization models.

The game is good, and the developer fixed the only issue i had. So if you like top down shooters, i recommend you get it.

Thanks devs.
