This is one that hits me right in the nostalgia.. with that said, it doesn't come without its flaws.

Initially released in 2006 as an Xbox 360 exclusive, Dead Rising was an extremely refreshing experience. You play as Frank West, freelance photo journalist who is covering a zombie outbreak. The entirety of this game takes place on mall grounds, which really adds to the immersion in this game. The initial 72 hour mode takes place under the limitation of a timer. This was taken with mixed reactions but in my opinion it was a good mechanic that made this installment feel more original &, when removed, made later installments feel not as true to the original. That aside, this game is good for a play through or two, if you've yet to experience it. As the years go by, it ages more & more (Mechanics in general), so I'd recommend giving this one a go sooner than later.

The worst part about this game would EASILY be the survivors AI. It's downright awful. Saving survivors is a fairly sizable part of this game as well so its a shame that the AI for them is so bad. If you've played the original, this is nothing new to you. If you are new, be warned.

+ Original Concept
+ Everything / Anything is a weapon
+ Several Different Endings

+/- Timer looming over you during play through

- Terrible Survivor AI

Early Access Review
Phantom Abyss - A game focused around Parkour with Ghosts.

+ Fun Gameplay (You play as a whip wielding adventure traversing a temple littered with traps that only get more difficult as you get further into your run)
+ Original
+ Replayable (Rogue-Like)
+ Optimized for early access

- No progression system
- No achievements
- Could use more room types, unlockables, & content.

Overall this is a pretty fun game though; one that I'll continue to play as long as the developers continue to add to it.

A great park building/management style game that comes with its flaws...

+ Graphics & animations look smooth.
+ Music & sounds stay true to the franchise.
+ FUN!

- Building feels limited (not enough building pieces).
[a few suggestions for building pieces include benches, tables, vending machines, bathrooms, more buildings for guests, more path textures (gravel, stone, dirt, ect.), individual trees/bushes, mascots, signs, fountains, different lighting options, flags, decorative fencing, statues, ect.... everything is good, we just need MORE!]

- Needs more content.
[In its current state, the game features 5 different locations, or scenerios, that make up its campaign. Theres also a sandbox map. While these maps are fairly unique in there own right, there just isn't enough to justify the price tag. Very much hoping that more locations/scenerios are added in the future, I think it would really up the longevity of this game.]

-----

I truely hope Frontier continue to support this game for awhile after release. This is such an incredible foundation they've built, it just needs a little more time to "bake in the oven"... so they can deliver the experience that we, & they deserve.

[This is a day 2 review, after 13 hours of gameplay. I'll continue to edit this as changes come.]
