Yes, it's cute, and yes, it's a good level of challenge, but the camera controls are incredibly unintuitive and frustrating and the movement made me motion sick in a way no other game did.

Very short but important story. If you are at all interested in experiences of the LGBTQ+ community, check it out.

Among all the stories of great deeds and sacrifices, terrible monsters and even worse people, Stardew Valley stands out as a game that has none of that. It's idyllic country setting is a notable change. It offers a range of well-developed characters and engaging activities, and it provides the perfect respite from all the sword-waving, monster-slaying adventures.
Tl;dr, I need something colourful and positive for a change, and that is Stardew Valley.

Yes, it's not an overly brutal and serious game. Yes, the graphics are rather dated. But damn, this story. These characters. This soundtrack.
The story is engaging and there are some nice plot twists to keep you on your toes. The characters are likable and each has their own personality. Especially Jade. Can we have more protagonists like her, please? She's a reporter armed with a camera and a staff. Not yet another one of those bloodthirsty, psychopathic assassins, and this is a really refreshing change.

There could have been more explanation for why things are, as the answer to that quite often seems to be "just because". Also, be warned, quite often you'll not only have to fight monsters, but also the camera - it's annoying.

Overall though, it's a pleasant game, and I enjoyed every moment of it.

Nice, relaxing hack-n-slash, filled with easter eggs and more lore than an average RPG made nowadays. It's the little things like finding shields with one lord's coat of arms only on his lands, that really make it good.

Admittedly it requires hours of grind, and suffers terribly from the fantasy female armour effect, but if you're looking for a way to kill time and get a laugh out of it, you won't regret getting this game.

Started playing it this evening, and finished it in one go. It's rather short, but definitely encourages replaying it for different endings, and I fully intend to do that. The story is engaging, and there is a lot of backstory to uncover.

----
Pros:
- Story
- World-building
- Multiple ways to solve a problem
- Encouragement to replay it.

Cons:
- Short :(
- Very little in terms of journal

Tips: write down EVERY number you see.
