This game would be 10/10 if it weren't for the massive and jarring technical issues.

Story: This game does a very good job of showing and not telling. I despise games that have word vomit or walls of text, this is not one of those games.

Design: The bosses are all unique and polished, the only time I felt it was unfair was when the game started to spike. They're all accurate to how they're described in myth, a lot of attention to detail and research was put into making every single boss and NPC design. The world, although painfully linear (this is not necessarily a bad thing), looks phenomenal. Sometimes the snow/sand gets way too much and starts to freeze your screen, but it hasn't crashed my game yet.

Game play: Build diversity is pretty much nonexistent, as staff stances don't really change much of how you would play a fight out. Some attacks can be avoided with pillar, but that is really the extent of how creative you can be with the combat. Dodge when you need to dodge and basic attack until you get 4 orbs to cash out with heavy attack, spells just get you to 4 orbs easier/faster. This is my biggest critique outside of the technical errors.

Music: Chapter 2 had a headless monk singing to me in Chinese with a banjo, 11/10.

Overall opinion:
9/10
I hate how often I would try to enter the menu and pray to god that my game didn't crash. Some bosses such as as Chapter 2 end boss and Chapter 3 intro boss had so many particles that your PC will end up combusting. Entering the cave in Chapter 1 will cause your game to freak out for a solid 10 seconds. There was a severe lack of emphasis on different play styles (you WILL smack the boss with basic attacks until you can cash out with your heavy and you WILL like it). I can excuse these issues solely because I have a soft spot for the myth of Wukong, music, graphics and boss fights. This entry would've pushed gaming to the next level if they just didn't have so many technical issues, but this is Game Science's first entry and its a promising one. I assume they did not have the time or resources to create build diversity, as people who had played the demo had these same exact complaints. I can only hope that their next entry has less technical issues and build diversity similar to other ARPG's.

It's been more than a year since I've quit the game. Recently I've been contemplating about if I should come back, but after seeing what they have in store for the following year I decided not to. To properly min max your material generation is about 5 hours a day of daily content. Raids are three times a character (up to 6 will generate gold) once a week but take a varying amount of time to complete thanks to the fact that there are multiple pass or fail mechanics no matter how much you over gear the content. This leads to incredible amounts of cherry picking in party finder. You would not have an issue if you're like me who has spent thousands of USD to help gear all my characters, but for the vast majority of people you will probably spend more time in party finder + disbanding after wipes than actually raiding efficiently. These issues were very briefly touched upon every single announcement, but it's been years with no change so at this point it's a hard no to reduction in chores.

Localization from AGS is terrible. Many texts are mistranslated and your typical twitter politics happen to characters as well. They randomly change skin colors of random NPC's and even changed the skin color of when you transform into your demonic form for a class called Shadowhunter. They add extra clothing to random NPC's and the "short people" race. There's not much censorship to skins/classes or skin swaps thankfully, but it happens very sporadically. It's as if they have no real cohesion or firm decision making in that studio, and even then they're doing a terrible job just doing their primary function which is just translating.

The only good thing about this "mmo" (this is barely an mmo, its an ARPG) is the fluid comabt system, but good luck trying to get into content when you're being gatekept by gear that take you months up to two years to obtain. It's really a shame all Korean MMO's fall into this pattern of making their games a second occupation, this could've been a decent experience for many years.

The menu is bugged. The tutorials repeat every time you reload, leading so instances where you can get softlocked by having a menu permanently up. This can happen during the very first fight. If you inspect the enemy while the game is trying to teach you something, softlocked and have to restart. The fishing menu repeats its tutorial, making it so that the fishing journal pulls up while you're actually in the equipment menu. This game is half baked, pretty much what i expected from Airship. Combat is the exact same from Battle chasers with around 2 extra layers of complexity.

I feel like this game was artificially pushed due to the release of the Arcane anime, it's not ready to be played. The overall game is finished, yes, but there are so many small things here and there that really irritate the overall experience.

If you beat the RPG mode on normal you get to take clothing off Zeta and Metera.
Also Lancelot is fun as ♥♥♥♥.
