A charming game bursting with Russian mythology, engaging combat, and questions of morality. There were a few untranslated lines, and the 3D models are starkly low-quality compared to the illustrated portraits, but I could hardly put the game down until I finished! The combat had a lot going for it, there were all sorts of different combos you could come up with. I loved the writing, especially Proshka, the characters had a lot of life to them. The game definitely wants to challenge you on using evil methods to do good, but I went for as evil as I could go (905 sins!). Well worth the cost, 9/10.

Can't recommend it enough, seriously get it. The game systems are almost entirely dialogue but it's written so well and even the most minor characters come across with so much pathos. It deals heavily with political, existential, and personal themes. Various politic identities are featured and criticized, the murder mystery is a microcosm of the issues in the town and a savage condemnation of war while thoroughly exploring the effects upon the human psyche. Be prepared to read, a lot. Or to die in the first five minutes if you went zero FYS and turn on a light. Also died in the first 30 minutes reading a postcard from my ex-gf which made me so depressed I died of sadness. There is not a single wholly good-aligned character in the game, they are all nuanced, realistic, and most of them ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in some way or another. Most of them try to screw you over. Some of them try to screw you over in a charming way. Your psyche will try very hard to convince you to shoot a child. The entire world is being slowly consumed by the void of nothingness and everyone's just ignoring it.

Geniunely enjoyed this game, the story was interesting and loved the characters. Combat was fine, had quite a few fun intense fights. Felt like the game was punishing me a bit for not being a decker with how much was locked behind being a decker (having Blitz with maxed decking right beside you rarely opens up these options), but I still enjoyed it and while the companion missions were annoying with only two people, they gave great insight into the companions and the different gameplay was fun.

However, my playthrough is unable to be finished. Ran into a game-breaking bug in APEX Rising, near the end of the game. Looked it up to find out its common, with the devs essentially shrugging and going "woops". Unable to get past the mission with the bugs and finish the game, extremely disappointing end to a game I was highly recommending to my Shadowrun campaign players up to this point.

Incredible game with enough content to keep you playing for months on end. The historical storyline is far better than the modern day however, and the early game is quite rough.

Worth it just for the wonderful dev diary about the development of Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity, Divinity 2, and some of Dragon Commander. Combat is a bit stale and repetitive and Flying Fortresses are mind-numbingly tedious, but questing is overall extremely enjoyable, Larian's trademark humor is present, dragon form is excellent, and the tower is one of my favorite implentations of singleplayer player housing. 100% play this.

Really fun survival game, more stuff to do than most cooperative survival games. Cartoony graphics and lots of options. Could use more character customization.
