And it’s not even close. Nobody else does it like Apex. The speed of combat, the movement, the gunplay, it’s unmatched. I’ve been playing since day 1 (+680 hours on Origin) and to this day, it remains one of my favorite games and one of the most fun shooters out there.

Apex found that happy medium where it is easy to pick up for casuals but hard to master. There is plenty of movement tech to learn and implement to your general gameplay. Even moving around the map is not that boring when you get to slide-jump, wall-bounce, tap-strafe, 180, zipline finesse. The fast paced nature of the game leads to more fun gunfights and it encourages you to always be on the move.

Guns feel really good to shoot and every gun is viable in a fight. There are easier guns, higher skilled ones and of course the meta, but everything is usable. Gun sounds and all the sound design in general is great – the sound of doing damage, breaking shields, downing enemies, all very satisfying. Legends are cool. Some movement based, some more ability focused, some more fun to use, some more crucial for the team. There’s a little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy.

Of course there are issues as well. Server performance can be really bad – lag, desync, no regs. General bugs and glitches. Cheaters. Overpriced skins. But putting all of that aside and judging just gameplay alone, Apex is unmatched. I always enjoy coming back to it.
