I was already having fun despite the occasional lil glitch having been lucky to not lose any actual progress, and the performance drops in the very very large areas are manageable. But then I got the an achievement for drop kicking someone while having a mullet and yeah, I'm definitely playing it all the way through.

Heavy nostalgic feeling with modern day QoL and game design (sliding, mantle, grapple, etc) while not veering too off the course make this a heckin unicorn of a game. Stable servers, no que's or wait time and immediately fun are just icing on the cake honestly. Meta is different, and while I don't agree with some things (double melee's strength currently as is the AR) I'm not actually against them. I just have to adapt. I'm glad they billed it as a beta because there is some balancing and fine tuning that needs to happen (just the slightest yet tilting desync, see the pistol) but considering it's $FREE.99? Hard to find the time to complain about it.

So far I'm 65 hours in and I have some thoughts-

1) The games got bugs... just like every other open world rpg i.e. Skyrim / GTA / Witcher3 (most of which still have some). Get over it- seriously it's nothing new.

2) It seems a lot of people are focusing on what this game ISN'T vs. what is IS. Could there be some systems that make sense, maybe were promised, but didn't make it in the game? Sure. Transmog, ingame character change, etc etc.
The reason this game is great imo is because of what it did bring to the table.
-Extremely visceral combat something I always wanted from Oblivion and the like but ended up looking for in games like The Surge or Souls series. Getting the right upgrades and setup really can make you feel like a cyberninja or the guy who never misses his shot. I've yet to play a game of similar style that truly makes me feel empowered like this game does.
-Paths available on a per mission basis to obtain your overall goal. Some with consequences great than they may seem at the time. Being able to truly stealth, go in guns blazing, a mix of both or not even at all was always satisfying. (Usually these attempts have felt half baked at best in other games, with Hitman really being the only one to explore this).
-A world like no other to explore. There's a lot of room for them to add content here (and before anyone says anything about DLC- some of the best game content has come from DLC ala Mass Effect, Oblivion, Tomb Raider, etc etc.)

All in all, it's not a perfect game. I'd hazard to say they don't make perfect games anymore. But it's pretty dang amazing for what is is- when you stop looking at it as something it's not.
