IS IT FUN?

Yeah it's a lot of fun when it works.

BUT It's not optimized well. I have a 3060ti, Ryzen 3700x, and 32gb of DDR43600 - and the game runs at about 70/80fps on average, but can get as high as 144fps inside buildings, and as low as 50/60fps under intense load

IS IT BATTLEFIELD?

If Battlefield to you was large maps, vehicular combat, waves of infantry, and the chaos of war, then yes - the game is still Battlefield.

The introduction of "specialists" is different, and I understand why a lot of fans would hate the change as it doesn't feel in line with Battlefields philosophy. That being said, I haven't found them to be detrimental to my enjoyment of the game, in fact I've found the ability to pick a specialist and then gadgets to support them and play how I see fit to be more engaging than the old system. Where the old system did provided stability and balance and a clear definition between roles on the Battlefield, the new system is flexible and allows you to fulfill two roles (play Angel and get three) at once.

Too bad they released an unstable, buggy mess without VOIP, a scoreboard, half the weapons of other entries, and some of the most uninspired map design the series has seen so far. My nostalgia for Battlefield 3 and 2142 is keeping me interested so far, and my hope that they can correct these issues.

Iron Harvest dropped the ball where it had a lot of potential.

Lack of unit diversity, some questionable mechanics with weapon crates and a certain unfinished feel to all aspects of multiplayer.

I'll revise the review if the state of the game improves, but as it is I'm disappointed I can't refund it, especially since aspects of the game are really great.

Revised: November 2021
Played with friends, buggy mess. So much wasted potential.

One of the best early access games I've ever purchased. Can't wait for full release.

This game is amazing and I wish I wasn't so broke ass I could buy it. I played for over 12 hours in 2 days.

If you're looking for a fun and exciting MMO that also caters to your ADD, congratulations you've found it.

FFXIV has a robust class system that lets you change what you play, whenever you want to change it. The ability to combine skills from different classes lets you create your own experience and character tailored to what you would expect from an MMO. The story is good ol' FF, but what really shines is the lack of grind. With a dozen different options to help you with progression, from Dungeons and Levequests, FATES and Guildhests, you never feel like the gameplay is getting stagnant. fun/10

Heavensward actually improves the story a ton!

Stormblood had lots of great dungeons and group content.
