So incredibly surprised at how much fun this game was; anime tropes aside, the story was pretty fun to follow, and the gameplay was superb. 'What if Castlevania had the Final Fantasy 9 learnable skills attached to equipment system' Incredibly addicting, the only caveat is that the game has some amount of ecchi scenes and enemies, and even though they did not make up a large part of the game, they are present; if you can stomach that however, it's very worth playing.

10/10 tho, I had a fantastic time, well worth the money.

Cute little game where you solve murders in a day that keeps repeating.

Isometric style gameplay with a metroidvania style exploration navigating the large mansion and having to revisit older areas with new abilities to see more things.

This one will stay with me for a while, def worth playing.

5/17/2022 Update:

The gameplay brought me back; I was determined to experience the story so I watched 30-40 hours of Cutscene videos on youtube to catch up onto the unavailable story.

I like the game now, and I believe it's the best PvE RPG Shooter that currently exists in terms of progression and difficulty, locking out large sections of gameplay behind expansion costs is understandable for a game this large in scale, but it does provide a barrier to those looking to get into something without spending any money.

In my personal opinion, if you would consider playing this game, consider the cost of the latest expansion (The Witch Queen, currently) as the pricetag for entry. It gives you access to the content the most players are in, and while the story is part of a much grander scheme setup through past expansions, the narrative is established well enough to enjoy it on it's own.

The review I left below still echoes a lot of my current opinions, but I now feel Destiny 2 isn't as inaccessible for new players as I initially thought, but if you think you can get away without spending any money, I do not see what is there for you to do.

3/4/2022 Original:

Tried to get into it after being a big fan of Destiny 1, but honestly, if you haven't played it by now, you've missed your chance. There's barely any content left in the game that isn't locked behind Paid DLC or Daily/Weekly quests in the different playlists they have.

I wanted to learn about The Red War or at least experience the campaign in full, but the only thing that even talked about it were small paragraphs in a section discussing the overall timeline of the game, that only spoiled the events in detail.

My goal when starting my account this time around was to catch up to the current timeline's DLC from the very beginning, so that has to be why I recommend this game negatively, as someone that was actively seeking the story of Destiny 2 and wanting to be immersed in a sci-fi shooter, only to be rebuffed and locked out of whatever content they have left as it's all gated behind paid content.

From a gameplay standpoint, I have no complaints, everything is as fun as it looked like it was going to be, and if you don't care about story, maybe this can be something you can get into. But mostly, I feel jealousy for the current active players of Destiny 2, as this game is only built to support them now.
