2. Before starting, be sure to dry out your iron oxide by heating it at around 200 °F for an hour, you could do this using an oven or bunsen burner, if it works, it works.

3. Add aluminium and iron oxide in a 1/3 grams ratio. You can swirl the metals together or shake them between 1 piece of paper and another. Continue to blend until they are fully mixed together.

5. Insert the magnesium strip, which you'll use to light it. Make sure the strip is long enough so you have time to get to a safe distance, you like having hands, don't you?

6. Now ignite the magnesium strip and run.
