Pros: Equipment all around is pretty awesome. They've always tried to add a 4th thing to the guns-melee-grenades formula, I think they nailed it here. Decent weapon sandbox, not many duds besides the Plasma Pistol and underwhelming human shotgun. Might need more heavy weapons though. I know the vehicles have had a mixed reaction but I love swapping seats and also the ability to control the vehicle tilt in mid-air. Mongoose has snappy controls and gungoose is excellent. Very strong and confident aesthetic, some great pieces of music.

Cons: Not enough maps or playlists, no multiteam, no way to turn the annoying AI buddy off besides muting voice volume which is what I've done, but then you no longer get to hear Jeff Steitzer's godly voice. No team colors and way too many outlines which hurts the ability to stealth and adds visual clutter, bulltrue is not possible with the current shotgun so infection is truly screwed, odd and upsetting choices to remove player collision and friendly fire, plasma pistol is useless and lacks and the ability to EMP vehicles. Vehicles are dropped via pelican which... is okay but more often than not means you'll never see things besides hogs, ghosts, hoppers and mongeese. They should have a separate mode with classic halo vehicle spawns, like how Infinity slayer is treated in 4. THE CHOPPER DOESN'T CHOP. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!? In fact, vehicle to vehicle collision in general is jank and underwhelming. In Reach you would see a
fire, smoke, parts of the vehicle flying off, it was so cool. You really felt it when you got a big hit. In general vehicle effects are worse off. Everyone is wearing the same armor because the customization sucks and I pity anyone wearing things they bought. If someone's wearing cool armor... maybe they earned it. But you won't know for sure. Are you really impressed that they spent money? I know I'm not.

Halo deserves better, it doesn't need to be this dumbed down. I don't usually leave reviews but this game has just been such a slap in the face to the franchise. Can you believe how bare the features are after all the hype? It's free but honestly I'd rather pay for it to reach the level of customization Halo used to have. Currently MCC is a better place to scratch that Halo itch.
