It's not just a beat em up. You will gain and upgrade gear that affect your stats and you have several classes to choose from each behaving differently. The real joy for me is the combat. It's more robust than I expected and includes special abilities based on your class. So far I've only played solo but I'm excited to try it out with a team. Even in my short time I recommend this game especially right now, the price seems very fair.

While I'm not a fan of top/isometric games, this one keeps me going trying to find that next unlock and build a better castle. The game is incredibly fun and well worth a spin.

While the mechanics may seem simple, it can get frantic quickly and I'm here for it. Leveling up weapons and abilities amidst hordes of enemies is fun and scratches that co-op kick.

I hemmed and hawed on this forever (just waiting for a good sale) but am I ever happy I finally took the plunge. It's definitely a Souls game but so very different and I'm not disappointed one bit. Beautiful world to explore with lots of secrets and death. The game is all about how well you play rather than how well you prepped your build. Plus jump is no longer an awkward and terrifying experience.

It's a fine game. Graphics and music are great, lots of weapons and a rather neat combat system. It's biggest downfall is it's rather short but I think the price reflects that. I wanted to see it expanded on but given it's length, it did what it could. The map could use some work as it seems pretty thrown together and most of the stages feel very similar so you may get a bit mixed up backtracking. The story is rather simple, but I feel like it would have more impact if you we're up to speed on Lodoss War. I'm not familiar so I had no clue who most of the characters were but you should be able to catch the plot here. Overall it's a good game and not a bad price for what it does.

I want to like this game so bad but it feels really unpolished. The UI is pretty rough and the sound effects are like something from the original Star Trek. The graphics look pretty dated and the controls can be frustrating especially with the Hover Vehicles. While the galaxy is huge along with the planets it can be a chore to get to a point where every thing clicks. Still I recommend the title if you can get past all that.

When I started I thought I was going to get bored quick with what seems like no real enemy or NPCs to focus on (ie no real conflict) but the freedom in construction, scripting, and exploration is pretty damn addictive. Then I found out I can hijack the random AI freighters and drones flying about so I basically cheated my way into space and now have a lovely home on an ice asteroid where I now contemplate how large of a fleet I can create, and can they be automated, and can I make a mega transformer ship or recreate the ISS, and ooh look at that new planet over there.... And I haven't even touched multiplayer yet.

Fan of the Metroidvania games (SOTN FTW!) and was skeptical when this game was announced but it has become one of my favorite CastleVanias. The twist on the story is just epic, the gameplay is very God of War, and the graphics, especially on the PC, are still stunning to this day. While it doesn't really pacify my love exploring a new map with upgrades, it certainly does an outstanding job of keeping me interested. This is one of the few games I went to through the trouble of completing 100% (110%? lol).

Bear in mind it's a different kind of CastleVania. Take it for what it is. A very well done retelling. It may seem out of place, but on it's own stands strong as an alternate version of the CV events. I would love to see this arc continue on past LoS2.

I like Minecraft but never could get into it like all these other cats. This game does it. While the zombies can get annoying it really captures the survival aspect. Even though its not some graphical powerhouse, I love it. I'm actually thankful for it as they get the job done without having me spend hours (or hundreds of dollars) to get an enjoyable experience. Worth the 10 bucks I spent even in this Alpha stage.
