A guy called Joshua once told me that you "Can't expect God to do all the work..."

He was right. You call Obsidian to do it.

Almost 50 hours in, and I still wasn't able to finish the game on easy.

10/10 I will prefer this to BDSM everytime.

Edit: And of course, had to finish it right after I post this... sigh

Incredibly easy to play game, and very relaxing soundtrack to go with it, the picture puzzles you'll be up against also won't make you take your eyes out with a spoon. A plus in my book.

From the looks of it, getting 100% cheevos is no big deal either, i'dd deffo say this game is very kind on the player.

Paid little over a € over it, worth every cent, imo. Too bad there's no lootboxes xD

PS unrelated to review: Thanks for fostering the disfunctional subreddit we all know and love!

Edit: Forgot to add that i was also slightly annoyed by a few sections on some levels that are too alike, like sky or water, didn't take my enjoyment out of it though.

Got this from Alienware arena. Big thanks to them.

Now, this game actually looks to me like a crazy mashup of various games, like L4D, a pinch of evolve along with a grain of R6 siege...

You proceed through the campaigns, with some cool interactions between the chars, and are able to fortify a given location with barricade walls, turrets, landmines.

You'll be up against some nasty aliens, and in good L4D style, there's a few "special" aliens going around with vrious abilities catered to ruining your day.
My gripe with them is that they look a bit too much alike (the drones), so it sometimes makes prioritizing something a pain.

Gunplay and animations looks pretty damn good so far. Lack of recoil on some weapons (cough AK cough) takes some of the enjoyment on using them.

Performance:

I run this on a small monitor,so am able to get a stable 30 / 35 fps, no visible stutter with:

An i5 3470 (stock speed)
4 GB RAM (Yup)
An old Nvidia GTS450.

Devs should review their minimum specs to not scare away people with lower spec machines from trying this.

I'll update as i play more, but it's looking good so far.

Wow, this game...

I can't even know for sure how many hours i spent on the mission editor, downloading mods that could run decently on my old sempron...But first played on a freakin pentium 3 550 mhz...

The precursor to the entire ARMA series. The one that started it all. I will probably ocasionally install and play this just for the memories, until the day i die.

Recommended is a massive understatement.

Bought it for 5 euros, still felt like i ripped off NWI...

I'll save you a lot of trouble and outright just say it's an instant buy for ANY fps shooter player with a brain.

It excels at everything it does, and also puts most other shooters to shame. Including AAA's.

All without loot boxes, pay to win bs, or exorbitant price tags.

Highly recommended.

Did you like Desert / Jungle / Urban strike series? Thunder wolves? Mercenaries: World in flames?

Well then, i assure you are gonna LOVE this one.

Don't even get me started with the lore, soundtrack, available units and their loadouts, this game is probably the best of it's kind...

Solid 9/10 (10/10 if co-op ever gets in)

Had to nominate this for the "Even better than i expected" award...

The ONLY gripe i have with this mod is the fact that i couldn't get my playthrough achievements due to a bug...

Other than that it pretty much improves on what's already probably the best game of it's kind...

Highly recommend it.

Isn't it weird that people with so many hours in this game are posting negative reviews?

Well... If you really want to know how such a great game went to ♥♥♥♥...

Take a look at the video totalbiscuit did for this game and a few gameplay videos by Star.

Compare the movement, gunplay, presentation, even the damned UI.

You'll know.

To me, this is THE example of as to why you don't stop developing for your main platform in detriment of another that got you virtually nowhere.

If the time and work invested in the useless console version of BL:R was put exclusively on the PC, i'm pretty sure that to this day, the game would be in the top 50 steam charts.

As it stands, BL:R stands as the perfect example of underpowered consoles dragging down the pc community.

HSL WAS SUPPOSED TO BRING BALANCE TO THIS GAME, NOT LEAVE IT IN DARKNESS!!

EDIT; There seems to be some developments regarding BL:R, i'll surely update this review when something finally happens on early 2018.

Fingers crossed, despite my negative review, this is one of my all time favorite games.

I'll GLADLY change this to a positive, if the game somehow goes back to something resembling 2012's state, doesn't even need to be that close.

Was looking for games that could run on my wooden pc, came across this little wip, outside steam at the time...
As an added bonus, i got a really pretty game that runs excellently, even on an intel igp.

I'm not exactly a fan of mobas, but i can recognize a good shooter when i play one, heroes are very diverse, although with just a couple dozen hours in i can't point out anyone particularly OP.

Paladins has this card system, one usable set per champion, kinda like perks in your average shooter.
These you buy with ingame credits, or real money, through gems.

And there's the burn cards you aquire throughout the lenght of the games you play, wich further develop your champions abilities.

Using the right combos for the cards has this potential of twisting the game's balance, but then again, i haven't played nearly enough to judge that.

Bonus number 2: I don't have to put up with the religious sect behaviour that battle.nuts fanboys display...

Besides, i'm lazy and not willing to give up steam network platform to play mah games.

Plus, it's free. FREE! On Steam!!! And the founder's pack is awfully cheap.

Of course i recommend it. Easy to learn, tough to master.

See you in there!

Edit: Had to nominate this for The “I Thought This Game Was Cool Before It Won An Award” Award eheheh
