Of all the eSports out there, this is by far the best. It balances the mix between technique (controller skill, reflexes etc) and game sense (strategy, field position etc) perfectly. The skill ceiling is virtually limitless, with new techniques and strategies being developed by pros constantly.

Starting out I would strongly recommend not playing with your friends with hundreds of hours, as you will be forced to learn the game playing against opponents much better at the game than you, and the skill gap between rookies and veterans is vast.
