A great exploration survival game that is fun in its current state, but has several areas that need improvement.

Needs Improvement:
-- Enemy AI!!!! This is probably the most broken part of the game currently. With enemies set to Hard difficulty, I have experienced enemies phasing through walls to deliver a shotgun blast to the face or gain super-speed out of nowhere.
ALSO: Enemies are way too deaf when it comes to gunshots. Please add more enemy awareness when shots are being fired around them.

-- Hitboxes: There are hitboxes all over the map that are completely, infuriatingly screwed up. There seem to be random, invisible hitboxes all over enemy islands/fortresses that intercept my bullets which should have hit the enemy square in the head. To add to the frustration, the enemies seem to be aware of where these invisible walls are, giving them a distinct advantage.

-- Add another trader with better stuff on the outskirts of the map PLEASE

-- Cross-hair alignment on some guns is very wonky

-- Allow more than one piece of ore to be put into a furnace at once

The good:
-- A decent amount of progression is available to unlock higher tier workbenches, allowing better items and weapons to be crafted. Raiding islands on the outskirts of the map is essential for getting end-game tier loot.

-- Enemy AI actually has a few positives: 1) Taking cover when you are sniping them from a distance and forcing you to push them. 2) Rotating positions after killing you so you have no idea where the same enemies are going to be hiding

-- High tier weapons feel very rewarding when you are able to craft them

-- The map is interesting and fun to explore and the raid-able islands/rafts have a ton of variety

-- Lots of options of craft-able boats for traveling long distances with extra storage

Resource gathering meets intense class-based FPS combat on randomized, procedurely-generated maps.
If you absolutely hate farming, this game is not for you. If you are willing to farm a little bit, so you can resupply your ammo, then you can have a blast. There is enough variation in mission type and environment that this game has high replayability and some decent endgame content. Solo is hella fun and online co-op is hella fun. Highly recommended. Difficulty has a huge range with something for every skill level.

There's no game quite like Rust and it's a helluva lot of fun. Despite the fairly steep learning curb, Rust rewards persistence and skill in a kill or be killed open world survaval game. Can't reccommend this game enough but its not for the faint of heart.
