While I could just point out my playtime, I'd like to say some things I particularly like about this game.

First, I like that a lot of information is available, I'd say almost everything. I've seen people play other rougelike, such as Isaac and Darkest Dungeon, and there are almost no information or only few information where many elements are dependent on your memory or alt tabbing at wiki. Compared to that, every single relic, events, even enemy actions are told clearly (though enemy actions aren't THAT clear.)

Second, there are only few elements of random chance. I think there's only one relic with chances, and some events. Sure you could get doublefisted with a bad draw, but at least I can confidently math my maximum damage a turn rather than do math then pray. This also makes dying more tolerable.

Thirdly is the developer. The addition of a free character solidifies the developer's love of the game. They could just easily make her a paid dlc for a few easy buck but they chose not to. I kinda wish she'd be a bit nerfed though as of now she overpowered other character.

There's obviously some negatives. The lack of animation might be a turn off for some. The drawn cards can screw you at turns. Bad selection of cards at the start can decide your fate for the run. Some overpowered cards. And at high ascension (challenge mode), a uniform way of play instead of searching for overpowered combo.

But for what's it worth, the game's fun. And if you're bored there are a lot of quality of life, characters, even levels and bosses mods.
If you have played and liked deckbuilder boardgames (dominion, star realms, etc) I can guarantee your enjoyment. And if you haven't, there's nothing wrong with broadening your horizons is there?

The best podcast kinda game, the one you play while relaxing or listening to a podcast. Not particularly challenging, but can be made so from the difficulty setting.

I don't know how to give this game a positive view without saying anything that might be too spoilery.
But I can say that sayori is best girl and must be protected.

Have you ever heard of long war?
You should.
That's all I should say.

Edit: 140 hours in Long War and I'm burnt out
If you didn't know, long war is a MASSIVE mod that takes a normal campaign of XCOM (I think 40-ish hours) into around 150-200 hours. And it's massive, filled with new mechanics, new enemies (mostly bosses), new classes, new wapons, and even more stuff. Just beware that enemies evolve as you go, so a thin man in the end game can dish out 14 damage.

What to say... what to say...

First thing though, this is a game that's best played with as little knowledge as possible, so I won't say anything about the story.

I never knew what to expect with this game, I just downloaded the game when it came out and let it sleep until yesterday. I click play because of curiosity and free time, the next thing I knew I was 10 hours in the future and completed the game.

The writing is really good, as in REALLY GOOD. It's really funny when it needs to be while being serious when things do get serious, it also has a consistent tone making it the more engaging. The characters are also humans with their problems and life instead of cardboard cutout character with their one quirks or personality, which I really like as it makes me feel attached to them.

The soundtrack is superb, nothing to say there.

The art is great.

If I have to say anything negative about this game, it'll be the price.
"Are you really complaining about the price? It's a free game." You might ask.
That's exactly the reason I'm complaining it, it sets my expectations too high for any other free VN games. And I know my expectations will never be met.

If you're reading this and still unsure whether to play the game or not, just play it.
Just download the game, wait a few minutes, and play it.
Don't think about your free time or the time needed to complete it.
Just. Play. It.

Final verdict: Buy it when they've done patching the performance issue, as it's the only main problem I see. Other than that, keep an eye out for this game, the base game is awesome, and there's also a great modding community. I believe this is a game that's already better than EU/EW.

Quick review: Very awesome

This sequel improves every aspect of XCOM EU/EW, I almost forgot I'm not playing a long war.
Though, it's true the game need some performance patch.

Other than that the performance issue and few random lag, its graphic is great.
Sound is great (it manages to catch the atmosphere).
Gameplay is very XCOM EU/EW, though I haven't been playing for a long time, but it's looking good so far.

If you've played XCOM EU/EW, I'd reccomend it fully.
If you haven't, that depends on your preferable genre, as not everyone prefer a strategy game

A bit of advice for people who haven't played XCOM EU/EW, this game quite relies on RNG, don't expect your 99% hit precentage to hit. Always prepare a strategy in case it misses. Still, that doesn't mean it's 100% pure luck type of game, the strategy layer is deep enough to make up for the RNG.

UPDATE: Finished the game.
Well, it's kind of confusing now that I've seen all the game has to offer. It's not a bad game by all means, it just really push you to be proactive, which good for most people, not really good for other.

The following things is purely my opinion:

The good one
+The avatar project timer is well timed. Not leaving you too laid back, but not really killing your gameplay.

+The timers in missions is sometimes bad, sometimes good, though what really screw me up is the placement of the objective in most mission. (♥♥♥♥ capture mission though). But mostly, it's tight but not too tight.

+The enemies are varied, which is good. I don't think it will ever be a bad point.

+The costumization is good.

+Destructible enviroment. Like, super destructible. This is good.

+The mods are awesome already, and we're not even hitting the one week mark.

The bad one
-Some abilities are useless late game, or at least not as useful as the other one. This is a bad point, as every abilities should be useful until late game, to make a varied gameplay.

-The pacing is weird and done too quickly. There should be a few mission with the introduction of new enemies. Instead in early time, I met new enemy in every mission. This is bad for new players who haven't learned anything about the enemies.

-♥♥♥♥ codex

-The final mission isn't as good as EU/EW. Warning though, this is purely my opinion.

-The buying of new weapon and armor is weird. One mission you're underpowered, the next one you're super powered. I don't really like it as there's no transition from one point to another. The use of experimental stuff is also weird.

-The lack of stuff. It's like they only focused on the enemies, instead of the thing we'll be using against it.

I was hoping to raise a princess into a beautiful, elegant queen. Mastering magic, being nice to everyone, and all the nice stuff.
Never once I thought dealing with assassination, politics, war, and spies.

For the serious review, it's a nice game.
The graphic aren't bad, they aren't that good either. At least they look nice and relevant with the information.

The music are repetitive, but aren't bad. Nor it is catchy or memorable.

The gameplay are good. Click here to raise this stat, click there to raise that stat, and so on.

The story are... Well... It was normal. Expect many twists though, and lost of secrets revealed (if you're replaying).

The best part is in it's replayability. The gameplay is normal, as I've said before, but there are LOTS of "checks" (or "flags" if you prefer it). Each playthrough could be something new, with different skill raised, leading to different check passed, and diffferent choice available.

You could be a gentle queen in a playthrough and a magic-spewing-hater-killing queen in another.
The choice, the ending, are many. I could say it's hard for someone to finish this game in the first try. Hell it took me 10 tries to be a queen.

Do I recommend?
Hell yeah I do. For some time killer game, this game is great.

But is it worth the price?
That depends on yourself. For me, maybe in 25% sale of more is worth it. While for some, it could be worth the full price. I do hope there are more bonuses in this game, three in-game picture isn't that much of a bonus. I don't even know what to with it.

Also, beware of chocolate

Portal 2, the sequel to Portal, the popular game its popularity could be expected by no one, even by Valve itself
Turn the head of the player upside down by simple, but complex puzzle
Fun elements to interact with
Memorable characters
Genius level designs
Mysterious story
Awesome workshop stuffs (This one is thanks to the community though)
Plot twists so good it flows perfectly with the game
Ending that is so great, I slow clap the first time I watched it

Rant aside, yeah, this is another "Game of the Decade" by Valve
Graphics are great, maybe magical, to run smoothly while mantaining a great level of detail
The story is mysterious, never told directly, but lots of hints and stuff you may found while wandering around
Sound are kinda, well, normal. But the voice acting are Grade-A, it just really make the world believeable
The gameplay? Portal here, portal there, you move through it. That's it
The level design? Fun. Really, it's the best part of the game

Haven't played the coop though, no friend to play

You really should just buy and play the game, it's really worth it
And if you maybe feel bored along the journey, mark my words, the ending will be worth it. Every single penny, every single second
